What do you think of the movie Resident Evil 5, due out in 2012. Do you think Michelle can get this film again as Rain Ocampo, because this movie is how it all started, ie before the great presence of the T-Virus, what do you think?

I think its unlikely since she was shot in the head. Unless Rain has a twin, I cant see it, would be nice tho. =]

Rain did work for the umbrella corp and they started the whole thing off so maybe she could be in it but it's a small chance. It would be cool though; although I think that Michelle is moving on to bigger and better things than RE.

Well if its how it started then Hell yeah but ONLY as a cameo

^ i agree it should only be like a cameo or something. nothing to big, however i think she will be busy promoting her projects and movies to try and film this RE. it would be interesting to see how they would put her in the movie though.i would kinda like to see that. kinda. ee maybe.small maybe

I think this movie will be more about the games, like all of them old movies should have been.

From the summary I read online, the 4th will be a 3D adventure centered around Alice again of course, and the 5th will be a "reboot" going back to the beginning where it's all about "a special military unit who are sent in to fight a powerful, out-of-control supercomputer and hundreds of scientists who have mutated into flesh-eating creatures after a laboratory accident". Um, THAT IS THE FIRST FILM! WTF? This rumored summary is just so utterly bizarre. Why would you basically remake the first film all over again? That's what it sounds like they're effectively doing. Makes no sense.
Anyway, to be honest I don't see Michelle going back to this franchise. I think the only way she would even consider it was if they planned something really big and really exciting and the role was significant, but the likelihood of any of that being the case is slim, thus are any hopes for her return. Michelle's sort of at a stage in her career where she is seeking to be involved in bigger, higher quality projects or at least smaller productions which allow her to shine or do something new. The RE franchise is all about Milla Jovovich, and any "reboots" without her will just be redundant and likely uninteresting. So I don't see it as a franchise Michelle would return to.

Yeah, I don't either. I rather her do something different then go back to this film, especially since the sequels have been nothing but horrid at the very least, it would be a waste of her time and talent to even consider going back unless the deal was just that good. But even then I'd be wary for yet another sequel. The awesome elements in the first film were just not present in the second or third, which the third to me was just... laughable. So utterly ridiculous, in terms of action and suspense.
The first movie had that creepy vibe that just unsettled you through out, you could feel the urgency rolling off the characters... Between the ridiculous stunts and the over-done special effects in the second and third, it was just that... Ridiculous, and couldn't really take them seriously with the annoying comic relief that was misplaced. Paul could have done so much better in terms of directing and plot devices, which came off to me that he was just doing the movies just to make a quick buck, imo. They weren't thought out well, I understand they were trying to follow the video games, and incorperate stuff but still... they were laughable and the video games were hardly in the same vicinity of being just that.
And just to reboot the series from there?...
C'mon really. The only way that it would be remotely interesting is if they go before the hive incident and focus on the characters before it happened and even then.. I doubt it'd be any good because they wouldn't be able to have any zombies around since the outbreak in the first made it abundantly clear that it was the first time it happened.
People need to just stop making 'reboots', 'rehashes', horrible sequels of movies to make a quick buck. What the hell happened to originality? Really. Oh wait... Hollywood snarks down upon original ideas these days, I forgot.

I know right? The first one came out back in 2002 so it's not like that it's been years. The only reason I think they would redo it is because the CGI would be a huge improvement since then. But still.

Since odds are she won't step near this film, I'm moving this to the Off Topic section just so people don't see the title in this section of the boards and think she's in it.
