Our girl Michelle is making her first ever convention appearence this August with her attendance at Wizard World's Chicago Comic-Con.

She'll be there with the likes of Sigourney Weaver, Tobey Maguire, Robert Downey, Jr., and her "Blue Crush" co-star, Kate Bosworth; and, "BloodRayne" co-star, Kristana Loken.

Advanced tickets go on sale next week, on the 22nd. They're limited to only 750. So, if you're in the chicago area; or, can afford the airplane tix price; be there and show our girl the love that only we forum members can show...

Sorry, I was visiting another forum when I noticed another member posting that he was going to Chicago Comic-Con. I checked the Wizard Universe web site; they had the info up; it looked kosher to me. I honestly don't believe that Wizard would've put up that info if it weren't legit.

I go to the new york comic-con and the wizard world philly convention every year, and the only one she's going to be at isn't one of those? Man, this is the kind of news that reminds me of why I stopped coming to this site as often. Just something to tease me, with Michelle being the carrot at the end of the stick on the treadmill that is my life.

Tons of comic book store/dealers and the artists and writers that make them get together to sell comics, sign autographs, meet fans, etc. Celebrities go there for signings to make extra $ and presumably to meet people dressed like Boba Fett. If the con has a theater, they'll premiere new movies ahead of everywhere else, hold interviews with the actors and directors.

I was watching the Wizards of Waverly Place and an episode came up where they all went to comic con... I thought it was just made up...

Well it's not up to her at all. It's all up to where FOX wants to send the primary cast for promotion and/or premieres. I would say that on top of the obvious main Los Angeles premiere....my guess would be the other premieres will likely be held in (again this is just an educated guess but I'm sure I'm not far off):

UK
Germany
France
Spain
Mexico
China
Australia (or New Zealand since that's where it primarily filmed)

I would say the bulk of promotion will be occurring in those areas as well as LA, NY, etc. As for whether or not they do anything involving Canada, who knows. Typically it'd be doubtful but since James Cameron is a Canadian so you never know if they might want to do something in his home country. Just gotta wait and see. Last time she got her info in mid-January for a tour that began mid-March, so it's likely that nothing will be known about her AVATAR promotional schedule until at least October.

I was at the Wizard World Philly convention Saturday, they had people handing out pretty big, full-color fliers with her on it as appearing in Chicago. Michelle and Rhona Mitra were 50/50 on the front page (pics from their movies) with other celebs like Robert Downey Jr. on the back page.

Interesting. Still remains unknown though. Will let you guys know at some point the final word on the situation.

I'll put a picture up tomorrow of the flier. If it's a mistake, then it's a damn big "oopsie" because it's a really nicely printed/designed flier.
