Thanx. The article really does pump up the hype. If it's even a fifth as good as they're making out to be, then it's going to be a major hit.

That little teaser just leaves you begging for more.
Admin - November 20, 2008 01:06 AM (GMT)
Actually the teaser trailer posted there is a fake, or so the rumors say. Who knows. But it's been on the net for awhile. It could be legit, but what makes it seem like a well-played joke is the text and special effects graphics at the end aren't worth crap.
A REAL trailer is set to be premiered in a few special showings at events in a couple months. See the link posted by Nakita previously.
Nakita1031 - November 20, 2008 01:33 AM (GMT)
I hate when people make fake trailers and sh*t. I am gullible too. lol I remember there were a couple fake F&F4 trailers and I almost fell for them. Stupid me. *slaps self* :P
Admin - November 28, 2008 08:37 PM (GMT)
An ACTUAL first trailer is SUPPOSEDLY going to be shown before The Day the Earth Stood Still which is out on December 12th.
So we MIGHT get our first look at Avatar in two weeks!

Yay but that means pay another ticket to a movie i dont want to see :(
Admin - November 28, 2008 09:47 PM (GMT)
Ha.
All I know is I'm hesitant about this remake of The Day the Earth Stood Still . The original is such a classic, so to remake it gives me pause. But my curiosity to see if they ruined it is reason enough to go, so when you add in an Avatar trailer...I'm there!
*SevenSeven of 3* - November 29, 2008 02:12 AM (GMT)
I never pay attention about what critics have to say about anything and "The day the earth stood still" looks good to me ! so now I have a doble reason to go see it ! yeah , do the dance ray ! -_-

I don't care if the movie's crud as long as they show, Avatar trailer. ;)
Admin - December 3, 2008 03:10 AM (GMT)
No trailer, sorry guys. The rumor was a bust. It will likely be Spring or early Summer before any trailer is released in any capacity. Cameron wants to be sure that he's got proper footage from the whole film to be able to include in the trailer. Right now due to the time it takes on the CGI and such, they've only done a portion of the film so a trailer isn't possible just yet.
Lost Angel - December 3, 2008 04:52 PM (GMT)
Sucks but whatever, can wait longer for it.

No, Sam Worthington is the lead actor and Sigourney Weaver would be considered the lead actress. Michelle is a significant supporting actress though, so no worries. You'll be seeing a lot of her. ;)
rosedragon - December 8, 2008 09:57 PM (GMT)
Is it going to be cartoonish or what cause i don't get it.
Admin - December 8, 2008 10:05 PM (GMT)
Avatar will be a 3D film that will have a LOT of computer generated elements, but it will be so realistic, that you won't be able to tell what's real (the actors) and what's not. It won't be 3D as in what you typically think of 3D (with those silly red/blue glasses).
James Cameron has developed a photo-realistic motion capture camera that is unlike anything you've ever seen or anything ever created. It will literally change the art of film. This is a revolutionary project. Thus far the budget is around $250 million and the film requires almost 2 years of post production (hence a December 2009 release date). People will be blown away, and the movie-going experience will never be the same. While she may not be the lead, this is BY FAR the BIGGEST project she's ever been involved in. Heck, this is one of the biggest projects any actor will ever be involved in period.
BekI - December 8, 2008 10:52 PM (GMT)
Just the size of it is hard to comprehend, but as we saw with the effects in Titanic to name just one, Cameron doesn't do anything by halves. Looking forward to the release even if the actual movie plotline doesn't appeal so much. Will watch it purely for the effects and Michelle.
Lost Angel - December 9, 2008 02:53 PM (GMT)
Before this I thought she had only a small role...This is....holy f*ck, sorry, but I can't wait to see her finally make it. And then watch as the likes of Perez Hilton and all the media grovel back, do a 360 and kiss her ass. Priceless!
BekI - December 9, 2008 08:47 PM (GMT)
^ 180, Laura. If you do a 360 you're back where you started.
See with this movie, it could have a similar impact as when talkies were invented. Or when colour came to the cinema. That's huge!

It's not of Michelle, but it is the first officially released image for the film. Here's director James Cameron and star Sam Worthington behind the scenes:
