Noticing her in the bushes and hearing her vomiting, he waited to see if she was okay. When she finally crawled out of the bushes, she stared up at him and quickly stood.
“Are you okay?” he asked in a concerned and caring voice. A voice he had rarely used in this place.
“Does it look or sound like I’m okay?” she sarcastically asked.
“Sheesh! Forget it! Forget the fact that I was just trying to be sure you weren’t dying out here or anything,” he retorted in a hurt voice.
Staring up at him for a moment, she took a chance. A chance she’d been avoiding or denying for the past week. Taking a huge breath, she announced, “I’m pregnant.”
“What?”
“I. Am. Pregnant.”
“Well… congratulations. Guess that explains the barfing,” he nervously replied.
There was an extremely awkward pause between the two as he looked everywhere but at her and as she just stared directly at him.
“Aren’t you wondering about your role in all this?” she finally inquired.
“Nope. It’s not mine. So what does it matter?”
“Why would I tell you something this private if it had nothing to do with you?”
“Who knows? Maybe cuz you saw that I was concerned for your health. But that baby inside ya ain’t mine…”
“Yes, it so is your child. I haven’t been with anybody in a very long time. Just you, Daddy,” she angrily answered.
“That,” pointing to her stomach “is NOT mine. I am never going to be a father, so don’t come looking to me to feed a screaming baby or for child support. I am not father material and never will be.” With that he turned and stormed away from her deeper into the jungle.
Taking a deep breath to fight the tears, she promptly returned to her previous position and threw up. Dusting herself off after several minutes of dry heaving, she made her way back to the beach and sat by herself to contemplate life.
Realizing that she’d be doing this all alone in this hell hole island, made her begin to be truly frightened for the first time in her entire life. Sure she’d experienced some horrific life experiences but none compared to this terrifying experience of being pregnant, having to give birth all alone, and raise a child in this place with nothing or no one to support her. At a time like this, she desired to be with her mom who would give her the guidance and the direction she so desperately needed. She sat there all day and finally headed back to her tent.
Over the next three months he avoided her at all costs even making it obvious to everyone that he was trying to steer clear of her. Gossip started about that but both just evaded the topic of the other and didn’t involve themselves in it. Unexpectedly, she began to show when she was about 3 months along. She didn’t think that was possible because in her first pregnancy she didn’t show until she was further on in her pregnancy. She had revealed her secret to the beach doctor soon after she had revealed it to him. The doctor had given her some advice, but his knowledge of pregnant women was quite limited.
A variety of survivors came up to her asking if she was pregnant. All she did was nod the confirmation. Then the vicious cycle began with guessing who the father was. Most guessed correctly that it was the Cowboy, who was found most days either reading in front of his shelter or had disappeared altogether especially when the survivors had correctly guessed that he was the deadbeat dad. Though he did collect and secretly leave mangoes in front of her tent nearly everyday.
When she was four months pregnant, rescue had finally arrived. Whisked onto a helicopter and then an airplane, all the survivors promised to stay in contact as they were being reunited with their loved ones. As her mother was tightly hugging her, she glanced up and noticed him staring at her. He had a look of sadness as he stared at her. As she pulled apart from her mom with every intention of saying goodbye to him, he disappeared into the crowd.
Staying with her mother, she tried to forget him and that look he had given her as he departed the waiting room at the airport. Also she couldn’t forget him as she was carrying his child or children as she soon discovered. A couple of days after arriving back in Los Angeles, she went to the doctor. Just wanting to be sure that the baby was developing properly and what she needed to do to be sure that this baby stayed healthy.
As per usual, she arrived at the doctor’s office all alone. After getting weighed and having her blood pressure taken and other important necessities taken, she lay on the table as the doctor performed her first ultrasound. She was excited that she was going to be able to find out the sex of her baby. She was shocked when two heartbeats filled the tiny room. Telling her what was obvious, he stated she was having twins. Shock didn’t even begin to cover the feelings she was feeling. Well, it did explain why she seemed to be larger than her last pregnancy. She couldn’t believe that after one time with him she would be having two babies.
Finally, the doctor broke through her shock and inquired if she wanted to know the sex of the twins. Furiously nodding. The doctor gently smiled at her and announced she’d be having one of each. Smiling back at him, she just slowly nodded. What would she say? Barely making it home before collapsing in tears. Tears that were a combination of joy and love but also of anger and fear. She didn’t know if she could raise two children all by herself. Informing her mother was a lot easier than she thought it would be. Her mother was 100% behind her and would allow her to live here well past the birth of the twins. She didn’t think she could do that. Living on her own since she was 18, she loved her independence even though she was having twins she still wanted that freedom. She wanted to be the mother.
Receiving a gigantic settlement from the airlines and a few other companies, Ana was more than set financially. She purchased a new home less than two miles from her mother’s. Moving and organizing at eight months pregnant was a challenge. However, a few of the survivors helped her to move and settle in. Thankfully, she was able to afford new furniture to be delivered and set where she wanted it to be. She actually enjoyed decorating the nursery. She decided the easiest thing to do was to put both of the babies in one room until they were older.
One day at her routine doctor’s appointment, her doctor informed her that what she believed were braxton hick contractions were now the real thing. Still able to drive, she stubbornly refused any help. She did call her mother on the way over to the hospital that wasn’t too far from the doctor’s office. She couldn’t get a hold of her mother. Not panicking quite yet, she checked into the hospital and got hooked up to all the monitors. Still she wasn’t able to get a hold of her mother.
All alone in the room, the contractions became more intense and now she really wanted her mother there for support and to hold her hand and tell her everything was going to be all right. Nurses came and checked her and told her how nicely she was progressing. Her pain level was increasing and still her mother’s phone kept going to voice mail. After about a thousand phone calls and being nearly dilated, she finally reached her mother. She said she’d be right there.
Finally, she was ready to push her babies into the world. The nurse held her hand until her mother came rushing into the room. Kissing her on her forehead, she grasped her hand. Less than 10 minutes after her mother’s arrival into the room, the first baby entered the world screaming. He was placed on her chest as she just stared at her newborn son. He looked perfect. She kissed him and cried and stared at him until she a contraction hit her less than four minutes later. Quickly, a nurse took the baby to get him cleaned up and allow her to get the last baby out. Soon her daughter was placed on her chest as she cried at the top of her lungs. After kissing her and crying some more, the little girl was removed to be taken to be cleaned up and weighed as well. Soon her mother asked her the names of the babies. The boy was called Tomas after the man who had brought her to Australia in the first place. If it hadn’t been for his need for a bodyguard then she wouldn’t have met her babies’ daddy and had these two precious beings. Her daughter was named Marisol for no reason except she just liked the name.
Her mother left late that night with a promise to return early the next morning. She couldn’t sleep even though she was beyond exhausted. The bliss and joy she felt about her two newborns made sleep impossible. She cuddled with her daughter in one arm and her son in the other. Just admiring them and kissing them. Then it struck her yet again. These beautiful and innocent creatures were her entire responsibility. She was all alone raising them to be contributing members of society. It was hers alone to guide them through the winding roads of the paths of life. Keeping her eyes directed on her son, tears splashed his blanket as she realized that this little boy wouldn’t have his daddy around to show him all the things a dad was supposed to show him. Replacements would have to be found to give him that guidance where she would fall short though she would do her best to give him everything. Turning her eyes on her baby daughter, her heart ached even more because she knew what it was like to not have a father. She knew that no matter what she did her two babies didn’t have it all. As much as she could give them everything, she wouldn’t be able to give them their own father.
How would she explain to them when they asked why he didn’t want them? The devastation it would cause her precious, innocent children began to make her blood boil. What kind of man would deny and not want to be a part of his child’s life? The answer to that question was easy, her brand new children’s father. Putting the twins back into their bassinettes, she crawled back into her hospital and sobbed as quietly as possible into her pillow. It was of joy at her beloved son and daughter but also the fact that he wasn’t there to meet and greet his children. She cried for their loss and his own. Finally, she could admit that she cared deeply about him. Sadly, they could never be since he wanted nothing to do with their children.
Her mother stayed with her for the twins’ first couple of weeks. She helped her tremendously learning to feed and manage her cherished babies. The first moment after her mother left for her own home had her in an ultimate panic. She thought that she wouldn’t be able to do this until she went into the nursery to retrieve a crying Marisol. When she sat in the rocking chair and began to nurse her daughter who just looked up at her with total trust in her eyes for her mother, she took a deep breath and believed she could do this. She could raise these two bundles of joy alone.
As the months passed, Ana felt more and more comfortable being a mother. She totally relished her son and daughter. It amazed her how they may have had the same parents but how totally different they looked. She had thought her daughter would look more like her as she seemed to in the hospital. However, she had light brown hair, but it was curly with piercing blue eyes and those trademark dimples inherited from her father. At the age of six months her personality was beginning to shine through. Ana realized her daughter may not look like her but was going to be quite similar to her personality wise. She knew what she wanted and was very determined to get her way. Unlike her mother, Marisol loved to be the center of attention.
On the other hand, Tomas was a basic replica of herself. He had the dark black hair though it was fine and straight. His eyes were the same as his mother. The only thing he had that his sister had too were those adorable dimples. Of the two he was much more laid back and let his sister be the center. He was content just being held while Mari had to be on the go quite a bit. Because her constant need for independence and movement, she was definitely the better sleeper of the two. Now that Ana was functioning on a full night’s sleep, she now had time to think more. She realized that she missed Sawyer. Not that they spent much time together on the island. Well, she had spent enough time with him to now be raising his two babies.
On their first birthday, it was just a quiet celebration with some family and friends. These friends included those from before the crash and some from the flight 815. Actually, Ana had become quite close to Claire and more shockingly, Kate. Since all were mothers they could talk about all the ups and downs of motherhoods. Unlike Claire and Kate, Ana was a single mother. She had no one lending her a hand after everyone went home, plus she had twins instead of just one. Very rarely did Ana spend time without her children. Yes, her mother did take the twins every now and again but only during the daytime. Ana always came home and spent the evening and night with her babies, tucking them in at night and watching as they drifted off to sleep. Then when she went to bed herself, she was all alone. Loneliness became her constant bedtime partner. Not that she wanted a man at that time because she didn’t want her children to become attached to someone and then have him disappear from their lives. Ana’s total focus and devotion were Mari and Tomas.
After their second birthday, it seemed that their talking skills just took off. Mari was a definite talker. From the time she woke up until she went to sleep, her mouth never seemed to stop chattering. Tomas enjoyed talking too but took a backseat to his sister. Usually, Mari went down for her nap sooner than Tomas and that is when he would come alive and just talk himself until he soon was fast asleep. This happened at bedtime too. Ana would patiently let him just babble away and answer and nod only when she thought it was appropriate. Half the time she had no idea what either one of them were saying.
For the past few weeks, Kate and Claire had been begging Ana to let her mom watch the twins and go out with them to a bar. Being as polite as was possible for her, she declined each and every time. Especially Kate in the past two weeks had been pressuring her to come to the bar. Ana always declined.

Here's the next part! Thanks for the reviews! Much appreciation!
One evening after both of the kids were asleep, Ana was busy cleaning up from dinner. Scrubbing the pan, suddenly, the phone startled her from her present job.
“Hello!”
“Hey Ana; it’s Kate.”
“Hi Kate. What do you want?”
“Tomorrow night you and I are going to that bar I’ve been begging you to come…”
Irritated, Ana replied, “Kate, I’ve told you several times that I have no one to watch Mari and Tomas while we go out to the bar.”
“Well, I found you a babysitter for tomorrow night.”
“Excuse me? I don’t let just anyone watch my children so sorry I can’t go.”
“Hear me out, Ana-Lucia.”
“No, unlike you, I don’t have a husband to care for the kids so I can go have a drink.”
Getting frustrated with her attitude, Kate broke into Ana’s rant, “I know that you’d never approve of just anyone watching Mari and Tomas. That’s why I called and asked your mom to…”
“You did WHAT?” Ana practically screamed into the phone.
Answering calmly, “I asked your mom, Ana. She more than willing agreed to watch the kids that evening and will the spend the night so you can come in a bit later and not worry about getting home too early.”
“Why did you call her, Kate? She has enough going on in her life that she doesn’t need to be babysitting the twins at night too. I can’t believe you did that.”
“I did it because you need to go be Ana and not just be mommy all day and night. You haven’t had much time for yourself.”
“Yeah.”
“Do you want to go out tomorrow night and have a little bit of grown up fun?”
Pausing for a few moments and liking the idea of getting out of the house away from her darling twins and her loneliness did sound like fun.
“I don’t know, Kate. I don’t know if they’ll go down for bed for my mom.”
“Ana, stop making excuses, just come to the bar after they’re in bed for the night. I’ll even let you bring a picture or two of them so in the beginning you can talk for a moment to me about them,” joked Kate.
“Okay so I guess I’ll be there after 9 tomorrow night.”
“Great. See you then and be sure to dress sexy, Ana. You never know who might be there.”
“I’m just going out with you as a friend. I have no intention of getting laid by some guy I just meet there.”
“I know, Ana. No stranger sex for you. Just dress up, ok? You’ll feel better about being in the bar instead of…”
“I know! See you tomorrow evening at 9.”
Sighing as she hung up the phone, she couldn’t believe she actually agreed to this. Maybe if she calls her mother and she cancels the babysitter than she didn’t have to go out to the bar. Dialing her mother, she finally heard her mom answer the phone.
“Hey, Mom I just got a phone call from Kate Shepherd who said she’d called…”
“Yep! I’m so glad to have spoken to her. I can’t wait to watch my grandchildren tomorrow night. What time do you want me there?” Her mother eagerly asked.
“Are you sure?”
“Ana, go out with your friend and have a good time. I think I can handle sitting in your house while Tomas and Marisol sleep. Go. Have. Fun. Now what time should I be there tomorrow?”
“Well, the kids are usually asleep by 7:30 so I guess 8:15.”
“Great! See you tomorrow. Good night.”
Hanging up the phone and finishing the dishes, Ana began to actually get excited at the possibility of a night on the town without two, two year olds clinging to her. Scanning her closet, she reached into the very back of it and found the perfect outfit for tomorrow.
The next night she put the kids to bed somewhat early. However, her normally well-mannered son must have known something was up as he took an extra ten minutes to be fast asleep. At one point she believed he was asleep and began to sneak out of the room. He sat up and asked where she was going. Returning to him, she told him to go back to sleep. Finally, she had him down for the night and got dressed. Admiring herself in the mirror, she couldn’t imagine that she’d ever be dressed like she was. Tight jeans and a figure cutting button up blouse type shirt. She hadn’t been out like this is in years.
Her mother arrived promptly at 8:15.
“WOW! You look beautiful.”
“It’s not too much?”
“Just remember I have to be back home by 6am to get ready for work.”
“MOM! I’m just meeting Kate for a drink. I’ll probably be home before you’re even asleep. The kids won’t even know I’m gone so don’t worry.”
“Just go and have fun.”
“Fine. Bye Mom.”
Parking her car in the lot, Ana just sat there for several minutes as she hadn’t been in a bar since Sydney. Obviously, when she wanted a drink upon returning from the island, that wasn’t possible as she was pregnant. Opening up her purse, she pulled out the picture of the twins and softly smiled. Stuffing it back in she took a deep breath and put her game face on. Casually walking into the bar, she scanned it to see if Kate was there. No sign of her yet. She noticed the tables were full but there was one empty seat at the end of the bar. Making her way there, she sat down to wait for Kate.
“What can I get you?”
“Uh tequila and tonic with a wedge of lemon.” Pulling out some cash from her purse and putting it on the bar.
“Be right back with that for you.”
Ana nervously looked at the door to see if Kate had arrived yet when a voice made her whip her head in its direction.

Here's more!
“Well…well…well, if it isn’t the Muchacha herself.”
Sitting right next to her was Sawyer. A man she hadn’t seen in almost three years except in their children. A man she cared more about than she ever wanted to admit out loud.
Swinging her body to partially face him, “Well, hello Sawyer.” She knew that she had to play it cool and not let her emotions get in the way.
“Whatcha doing here? Meeting a boyfriend?”
Being tempted to say that “heck ya” she was meeting some guy; she couldn’t because she knew that would be the moment that Kate showed up.
“Nah. Just hanging out with a friend. What have you been up to, Cowboy?”
“Not much, Hot Lips.” He made it obvious that was he was checking her out from top to bottom and back up again. He whistled, “Man Chica, you’re looking HOT. Better than ever.”
She just chuckled to herself and turned in her stool and gave back the compliment. She looked him up and down. Man, he was still as amazing as he was back on the island. He still had kept his tan and his hair…
“You’re not bad yourself, Cowboy.”
“Can I buy you a drink, Muchacha?”
Just then the bartender placed her tequila and tonic in front of her.
“Thanks, Sawyer but already paid for one.”
“I’ll get the next one, Darlin.”
“No! Just having one drink tonight.”
Totally ignoring Ana’s protest, Sawyer told the bartender, “Get her another what ever she just ordered. Just put the rest of her drinks on my tab.”
Nodding his head, the bartender departed.
“Sawyer…”
“Just relax, Hot Lips. That is one thing you need to do is relax. You’ve been uptight since the very moment we met. Well except in that jungle that one day.”
“Sawyer,” Ana hissed in a warning tone as she smacked him in the shoulder.
“Hey now. What’s with you and hitting me?”
She just smiled and replied, “You’re just an easy target, I guess.” Then she gulped the rest of her drink as the bartender set another one in front of her and another drink in front of Sawyer.
As the night progressed and the drinks began to affect her, Ana felt herself loosening up some more with Sawyer. She no longer was worrying or even thinking of her children. She was not mommy or even Ana as Sawyer called her several nicknames besides her own. She began to lose her scowl and in fact laugh at his corny and lame jokes. She didn’t notice that she had her hand resting on his upper thigh as his hand was on her hip as they faced one another. Not sure where it came from at the same time they both leaned into the other and began to kiss more and more passionately.
Slowly pulling apart, Sawyer whispered, “My place is really close. Let’s go.”
Nodding, she stood up and began walking out of the bar with Sawyer’s hands on her hips guiding her through the bar as he nipped at her neck. As soon as they were out in the fresh air, Sawyer wrapped his arm around Ana and drew her close to him and kissed her some more. Before long, they made it up to Sawyer’s apartment and as soon as the door was closed and locked, Sawyer had Ana pinned against the wall removing her shirt. She didn’t allow him to get ahead of her and ripped his shirt off him. Pushing her back into the bedroom, he dropped her shirt. Quickly, all items of clothing had been removed and tossed to various places around the room. Neither cared about clothing. It was just about the two of them and getting what they needed and desired from the other. Pent up emotions and passion poured out that night as it was intense and rough but later more caring and loving.
After several rounds, both lay in bed panting from the exertion they had experienced that night. Glancing over at the clock, Ana quickly panicked as she noticed it was well past 5 o’clock in the morning. She had to get home. Scooting out of Sawyer’s arms, she sat up hugging and clinging the top sheet to her. She spotted her shirt across the room and quickly grabbed it. Sitting back on the bed, she continued to scan the room for more of her clothing. Her bra was haphazardly thrown on the lamp near her.
Beginning to get dressed, Sawyer asked, “Leaving me so soon?”
“Yeah. I got to get home.”
“Why? Can’t you stay longer and go for another round? I think I am about ready again, plus it’s still early as the sun hasn’t even come yet, Darlin,” he inquired as he stroked her skin and tried to pull the sheet away from her body.
Chuckling she shook her head, “Sorry. I wish I could but got responsibilities at home. My kids are going to be up soon, I need to get back to them so my mom can go to work.”
“Kids?”
Pausing for a second before answering, “Yeah kids”
She surprised herself as she mentioned her babies. She hadn’t thought about them once all night long and didn’t know how this conversation was going to go. Would he reject them again?
“So…how far apart in age are they?”
He thought that she had another kid from someone else. If he only knew that, that was impossible. Besides tonight the last time she had had sex was with Sawyer and had conceived the twins.
“Less than five minutes.”
“What?”
“They’re twins, Sawyer. I had two babies at the same time.”
He had an absolute look of shock on his face as he plopped back down on his pillow. “Are they…..okay?”
“Yeah Sawyer, they’re just fine. Do you want to see a picture of them?” Reaching down and grabbing her discarded purse, she took out the picture and stuck it out toward him. Tentatively, he reached for it and taking a deep breath and turned it over. She noticed how intently he stared at the picture.
“They’re beautiful, Ana.”
“Well, I think so,” she tried to joke as she felt extremely uncomfortable in this situation.
Quietly he asked, “What’s their names?”
“Tomas and Mari”
“Mary?” Sawyer choked.
“Well, actually it’s Marisol but she didn’t seem to really be a Marisol so I call her Mari.”
“My mother’s name was Mary,” he spoke and glanced back up at Ana.
“I didn’t…I didn’t know that, Sawyer.”
“I know,” Sawyer quietly answered.
“I named her Marisol because I just liked the name. Honestly, I didn’t know anything about your family, Sawyer.”
“I know. I like that she has that name as she looks a lot like me, and I see some features of my mom in her.”
“I gotta go, Sawyer,” Ana quietly said as she finished pulling on her boots.
“Can I have this picture of them? Sawyer asked with anticipation.
“Of course. It’s all yours.”
“Do you think I can meet them?” Sawyer glanced up at Ana with hopefulness.
“You want to meet them?” Ana asked skeptically.
“Yeah.”
Mulling it over, Ana replied, “Yeah, sure.” Looking around she spotted a pen and a scrap piece of paper on the dresser. Hurriedly she wrote down her address. She then handed it to him and said, “Here’s where we live.”
Sawyer took it from her and stared for a minute as if he were memorizing it.
“Look, I really have to go before the kids realize I’m not there, and my mom has to go to work.” She began walking out the door.
“Wait.”
“Really, I have to go.”
“I can’t let you walk back to the bar alone, Chica. Let me get dressed and walk you to your car.”
“I’ll be fine, Sawyer.”
Getting out of bed and pulling on his discarded jeans, Sawyer spoke, “I insist and won’t take no for an answer.”
“Fine. Just speed it up.”
Grabbing a shirt from his dresser, Sawyer took Ana’s hand and escorted her back to her car. Neither one said much as they sauntered back to Ana’s car. When they arrived to the driver’s side, Sawyer leaned down and deeply kissed Ana before strolling away. Staring after him, Ana just slightly smiled at his retreating back. Getting into her car, she turned on the ignition and thought all the way home about her night. She confessed to herself that she had thoroughly enjoyed her night. It had been amazing and just what she needed. She really hoped that he did come around and meet Mari and Tomas and be a part of their lives and, with a bit of luck, hers too.

Thanks for reading! Here's more!
It was a little after 6 when she pulled into her garage. Glancing at herself in the mirror, she saw that her hair was an utter disaster. She knew her mother would know exactly what she’d done all night. Wait, she was an adult not a teenager anymore. Getting out of the car, she casually walked into the kitchen to see her mother sitting there.
“Good Morning, Ana-Lucia. Did you have a nice night?”
“Uhhh… hi Mom. Yeah I had fun.”
“So what did you and Kate do once the bar closed at 2?” Teresa interrogated.
“Nothing.”
“Nothing? Then why is it you’re getting home after 6 o’clock in the morning, Ana-Lucia?”
“Kate never showed up.”
“Then who were you with all night long?” Teresa continued her questions.
“Ummm…” Ana hesitated. Should she share that she had wild passionate sex with Sawyer all night long?
“Yes? Don’t lie as I see the big hickey on the side of your neck. Who were you with all night long?”
“I bumped into Sawyer at the bar last night and ended up back at his place.”
Thankfully, at that moment Teresa’s interrogation was interrupted by a set of lungs screaming, “Mmmmmmmooooommmmmmmmyyyyyyyyy.”
“I’m in the kitchen, Mari,” Ana yelled back.
Soon a pair of footsteps could be heard running toward the kitchen. Mari came running into the kitchen with her bare feet and leaped into Ana’s arms.
“Where were you, Mommy?”
“In the kitchen talking with Abuela, Baby. How did you sleep good?
“Yep.”
Kissing her on her cheek and putting her back on the floor, she then heard another pair of footsteps running down the hallway. Running straight into his mother’s arm, Tomas hugged his mother tightly. She kissed him too.
Tugging on Ana’s pant leg, Mari then spoke, “Mommy, I’m hungry.”
Peering down at Mari, Ana answered, “Do you want pancakes for breakfast?”
Both of the kids screeched, “Yesssssssssssssssssssss.” Marisol jumped up and down while Tomas had a gigantic smile on his face. Interrupting the excitement of the children and pancakes, Teresa spoke, I need to get home and get ready for work. We need to talk soon, Ana. Bye Mari and Tomas. Love you.”
“Give Abuela a hug and kiss before she goes home,” Ana instructed as she put Tomas down. Following what their mother told them, they charged Teresa.
The kids sat in their seats at the kitchen table anticipating pancakes. It was only on rare occasions did they get pancakes. Placing the pancake filled plates in front of them.
“What letter do you have, Tomas?”
“T”
“Good job! That’s right ‘T’ for Tomas.”
“What about you, Mari?”
“M”
“Good. ‘M’ for Marisol.”
“What letter you have Mommy?”
“Let’s see…’M’.”
“That’s for Mommy,” Tomas confidently declared.
They enjoyed their breakfast together. Ana just hoped that Sawyer would stop by soon and meet his children. They deserved to have him in their lives, and he needed to know them also. At the end of breakfast, Tomas piped in and asked Ana, “Mommy, what on your neck?”
“What did you say, Honey?”
“Do you have a booboo there?” Tomas innocently asked as he moved to Ana, and she had placed him on her lap. He was now touching it.
She put him back on the floor and looked in the mirror in the hallway as her two children watched her stare at her neck.
“Is that a owey, Mommy?” Marisol curiously asked.
Ana couldn’t believe how Sawyer had marked her neck. She couldn’t imagine what he’d done to other parts of her body. Turning around, she saw the twins innocently looking up at her. “Mommy is fine. Don’t worry. Meet in the bathroom to brush your teeth now.”
Going through her daily routine, the lack of sleep from the night plus all the activity was beginning to take a toll on Ana. She was absolutely exhausted. She figured that was why Sawyer hadn’t stopped by as he was sleeping. Lucky jerk! Finally when the twins went down for their nap, she took a quick shower, assessed the damage caused by Sawyer, which was extensive, and collapsed onto her bed until Tomas and Mari woke her up.
Several weeks had passed since her night with Sawyer. She had discovered from Kate that she and Jack had run into him at that bar. He spent many a nights drowning his regrets in drinks. Both felt that by setting up Ana and Sawyer that maybe they could patch things up. Both Kate and Jack felt that they were meant to be together along with several of the other survivors.
It had been almost 5 weeks since she had last seen Sawyer. Her disappointment with him grew each and every single day. She felt for sure that he would have stopped by or called to arrange a time to meet his children. He had seemed so interested in meeting them especially when he saw that they were real in that picture he had kept. When he had mentioned his mother and his daughter, she believed that he felt a connection and would be knocking down her door. How stupid to think there could be more with him. He was self-absorbed and had already denied them. She felt sick.

Thanks for the reviews! Truly appreciate them!!! Some cracked me up! Here's more!
Actually, the past three evenings she had been throwing up. Breaking down one day, she bought herself a home pregnancy test to take the next morning. That evening for the fourth night in a row, she became sick. The next morning she woke a bit earlier than normal to take the test in private. She took it and then a shower before she looked at the test to reveal its results. The two pink lines were pinker than any pink she had ever seen. She shouldn’t have been surprised as contraception hadn’t even been thought of let alone discussed. Sitting on her bathroom floor with the positive test in hand, she just cried. How in the world did this keep happening to her. One time with Sawyer equaled two babies. Now the second time with him equaled at least another baby. She was adding more kids to her family than times she’d been with their father. What the hell was she going to do? How in the world did she end up in this predicament?
As she wiped the tears from her eyes, she heard her bedroom door swing open and soon enough the bathroom door. Standing in the doorway was Marisol.
“Mommy, why you sad?” Marisol questioned in her tired baby voice as she made her way over to her mother still sitting on the bathroom floor. Dropping the test down on the ground, she scooped up Marisol and stood.
“I’m fine, Baby. Where’s your brother? Is he up yet?”
“No. He still sweeping.”
“Okay, let’s get out of the bathroom and wait until he gets up before breakfast, okay?”
Marisol just nodded and laid her head on her mother’s shoulders. Ana kissed her and walked into the family room. Not being quite awake, Marisol just cuddled with her mother as she stroked her hair. Soon enough Tomas was up and cuddling on the couch with his sister and mother. Just as they were almost fully wide-awake, the doorbell rang. Not expecting anyone to be at her door at 7:30 in morning she was quite hesitant to answer it. She knew it wouldn’t be her mother for several reasons one being that she had a key and would never ring the doorbell.
Getting off the couch, she said, “Stay here while mommy gets the door, okay?”
“Okay,” they both answered at the same time.
Smiling at them, Ana looked through the peephole to see who it was. She was stunned to see who was standing on the other side of her door. She was tempted not to open it but suddenly, threw open the door.
“What the hell are you doing here?” she angrily asked.
“I’m…..I’m here to meet Tomas and Mari,” he stammered.
“Why now?” she hissed.
“Because….”
“Well, why, Sawyer? Where have you been these past five weeks? I expected you sooner.”
“I wasn’t ready yet.”
“What?”
“Look please let me meet them,” he begged.
“I don’t know.”
“Come on 5 weeks ago you were more than willing to let me see them…”
“Yeah where were you then?”
“I wasn’t ready.”
“Really? Like I was ready to shoulder all the responsibility and do it all myself, but I did it because you left me no choice…”
At that moment she felt a little hand and arm on the back of her knee. She knew it was Marisol before even glancing down. Her daughter always had to know what was going on and didn’t like being left out of anything.
Looking from Sawyer to up at Ana, Marisol asked, “Who dat, Mommy?”
For once in a long time she didn’t know how to respond her. Did she tell the truth and say he was her daddy or just say it’s Sawyer. Not having a chance to decide what was best for her daughter, Sawyer introduced himself to Marisol.
“I’m your daddy, Mari.”
“Sawyer, what are you doing?”
“Telling her the truth, Ana.”
Both looked down at Marisol who had a confused look upon her face. She didn’t quite understand it and drew herself closer into her mother’s legs. At that moment Tomas had joined everyone at the front door.
He quietly asked, “Who dat?”
Marisol answered, “He daddy.”
“Like Christian’s daddy?”
Ana answered, “Yeah, like Christian’s daddy, sweetheart. That’s your daddy.”
Tomas and Marisol both stared intently at Sawyer trying to absorb it all. Then Marisol clarified, “You my daddy?”
“Yes, I’m your daddy.”
Marisol just smiled up at him with his smile. Tomas then asked, “You my daddy?”
Breaking eye contact with Marisol, Sawyer looked over at Tomas and answered him, “Yep, I’m your daddy too.” He smiled Sawyer’s smile also.
Looking up at Ana, Tomas asked eagerly, “Mommy, can Daddy play?”
Not wanting to at all, she simply nodded and opened the door wider for him to come in. He smirked at her as he past her and was then grabbed by his hands by the twins who dragged him into the playroom. She couldn’t believe how well the twins were taking to Sawyer. They didn’t usually attach themselves to other people right away; they had to warm up to them before they were this giddy. She watched as they pulled him down and both of them talked nonstop that it was obvious Sawyer had no idea what either one of them were saying. Slightly smiling at the site of her children, no their children, taking to their father so well, made her not ever want to leave the spot she was standing in. It was so sweet to see Sawyer finally playing with his kids. She tried to push down her anger at him for taking so long to be with their twins plus knocking her up again. How the heck was she going to tell him she was pregnant too? He wouldn’t take that well at all. Deciding she’d not mention anything for a very long time, she pushed the fact that she was pregnant again out of her mind.
After awhile of watching them play together, Ana felt a tug on her hand. Glancing down she looked at her daughter who spoke right away, “Mommy, I hungry.”
“Do you want me to make breakfast?”
“Uh huh,” Marisol spoke as she nodded her head furiously.
“Okay. I think today calls for pancakes. What do you think?”
“YEAH. Daddy too?”
“I’ll make enough for everyone. Go back to playing and I’ll let you know when breakfast is ready. Okay?”
With that Ana went into the kitchen to make breakfast, soon it was on the table and ready to be devoured. She went out and called everyone to the breakfast table. The twins were holding Sawyer’s hands and leading him into the kitchen babbling to him about pancake breakfast. Marisol dropped Sawyer’s hand and ran to her seat while Tomas walked Sawyer to his seat. He then went to his seat. Sawyer walked over to Ana’s chair and pulled out her chair. Giving him a crazy look, she didn’t argue with him and sat down as he pushed her chair in.
Beginning their pancake tradition, Ana asked Marisol and Tomas what letter they each had. They told her then they asked what she had and she told them. Sawyer looked on this tradition with amusement until Tomas whispered quite loudly, Mommy, did you make Daddy pancake?”
“Yes! Daddy what letter do you have?”
Looking at his plate he noticed it was the letter “D”. He then answered Ana, “Well, I have the letter ‘D’ for Daddy, is that right?”
Ana just nodded and tried not to look at the man across the table from her. It was hard to do as he just stared at her while he ate. Finally, he couldn’t stand the silence at the table.
“These are quite delicious.”
“Thanks!”
“Never would have taken you as a pancake maker or a cook for that matter.”
“Well, sometimes when you have no choice, you just do what needs to be done, Sawyer,” Ana spoke.
Sawyer just stared and she stared back at him. They did this until Tomas broke the tension. “What do today, Mommy?”
Shaking her head, she glanced over at Tomas, “What did you say?”
“What do today?”
“Well, let’s go to the park.”
“Daddy go?”
“Ask him if he wants to come.”
Whipping his head to his father Tomas asked, “You come to park?”
“Of course, son.”
“Before we go, I need you two to go brush your teeth and get dressed. I’ll be in the bathroom in just a minute to help you.”
With that the twins left the kitchen while Ana collected all the plates and put them in the sink. She could feel Sawyer staring at her back as she quickly washed the dishes and cleaned up from breakfast. Suddenly, she felt him directly behind her, hands wrapping around her waist, and leaning into her neck and kissing her. For a moment she allowed him to do this and allowed herself to melt into his arms until she remembered.
Yanking herself away from him and his arms, she hissed, “Don’t.”
“What?”
“You don’t get to touch me like that.”
Confidently Sawyer smugly replied, “Don’t deny the fact that you liked it, Hot Lips.”
“I didn’t,” she stated crossing her arms over her chest as she lied through her teeth.
Sawyer just laughed and knew she was lying. He then continued, “Come on now Chica. You’re lying. Don’t deny it. Aren’t you teaching our children to be honest? Don’t set a bad example by lying to my face that you didn’t like me touching you.”
She just glared at him and turned on her heel out of the kitchen. She couldn’t be alone in the same room with him without wanting him desperately. At the same time she couldn’t let him get off that easily. Helping the twins with brushing their teeth and getting dressed she made it back to the living room.

Glad to have surprised some of you! Who would have thought that Ana would be pregnant again???? Thanks for reviewing! Here's more Sana angst!!!!
Helping the twins with brushing their teeth and getting dressed she made it back to the living room.
Brushing Mari’s long curly hair, Ana asked, “Do you want your hair up or down today?”
“Down.”
Afterward, everyone piled into Ana’s car including Sawyer. The kids were so excited to have him come with them that they talked incessantly on the ride to the park. When they arrived at the park, they both wanted only Sawyer to play with them while Ana watched. She was glad to sit and just watch them play. After awhile, Sawyer left them in the sandbox and sat next to Ana. He tried to strike up a conversation with her, but she blatantly ignored him. Just as he was about to comment on her rudeness, Mari came screaming toward Ana. Apparently she had tripped and fallen and skinned her knee that was now bleeding excessively. Immediately, Ana jumped from her seat and ran to her daughter and scooped her up. Sitting back on the bench, she cleaned the wound at the same time as she comforted Marisol. Sawyer was amazed at Ana and her way of dealing with their daughter. He had felt that she was a terrific mother before but seeing her tenderness and calmness made him appreciate what kind of woman and mother she truly was. After Mari had been cleaned up and a bandage placed on her knee, she just laid snuggled into Ana and just watched her brother continue to play in the sand. Finally, Tomas came over and wanted to leave also.
Getting home, Ana fixed lunch. However, before lunch, Mari practically had a temper tantrum because she now wanted her hair to be put in a ponytail. Not only that but she wanted her purple hair tie. Sawyer stared at her horrified as she began to scream and cry about it. Calmly Ana told her that if she wanted that hair tie that she had to stop the fussing and then go into Ana’s bathroom to get it by the sink. Sniffling a bit, Mari turned and went toward her mother’s bathroom.
“Does she always do that?” Sawyer asked somewhat shocked at his daughter’s behavior.
“Not always but she's two and a half, hungry, and tired. Kids get upset, Sawyer. What did you expect that she would be happy all day long?” Ana tiredly yet annoyedly asked him.
“I.. uh... don’t know. She just seemed to be so happy just a moment before and then BOOM she melted down over her hair.”
“That’s Marisol for you.” Ana responded.
Just at that moment Marisol came in holding her purple hair tie in one hand and in the other the positive pregnancy test Ana had left on her bathroom floor this morning. Ana thought she was going to pass out with what was in her daughter’s left hand. She couldn’t even look at Sawyer for the first several moments until her breathing got back under control. Finally, she realized that Sawyer might not know what a pregnancy test even looked like. Starting for Marisol to grab the pregnancy test out of her little hand, she didn’t get to her in time as she made her way over to Sawyer who was just out of reach of Ana. Handing her treasure in one hand to Sawyer and then the tie to her mother. Turning her back to Sawyer, Ana quickly put Marisol’s hair up and walked toward the kitchen. She couldn’t deal with Sawyer’s reaction at that moment as she hadn’t really had time to deal with it herself.
Stopping dead in her tracks with her back still facing him, she heard him whisper, “What’s this, Ana?”
Slowly turning around, she responded, “What do you think it is, Sawyer?”
“It looks like to me to be a pregnancy test. I sure as heck know that it isn’t my two and half year old daughter. That leaves you being the only female left in this house.”
“Yeah, it’s mine.”
“Are you….are you pregnant?”
“I don’t want to do this in front of the twins. Can we wait until later?”
“Sure.” Sawyer said as he slowly sat down on the couch while the twins and Ana went into the kitchen to eat lunch.
“Daddy, come on,” Tomas called to him.
Slowly Sawyer stood as he too went into the kitchen. Neither he nor Ana said much during lunch and just let the twins do the talking. Actually, the only time Ana spoke was to tell Tomas and then Marisol to eat and not play with their food. Soon after lunch, Ana put them to bed for their nap as Sawyer just sat stunned on the couch. He didn’t know how to digest this new information. He barely could deal with the two he had and that he had just met and now he might have another one on the way. Finally, Ana entered the living room.
She just stood across from him just staring at him. Sawyer stared back at her until he broke the silence, “So are you pregnant again?”
“Yep!”
“How did that happen?”
“Um… you were there. Don’t you remember that night less than 6 weeks ago, Sawyer?”
“I know how babies are made,” Sawyer responded harshly. “Just how did you end up pregnant? Aren’t you on birth control?”
“Are you kidding me, Sawyer? I haven't been with anyone since you knocked me up the first time in the jungle.” Ana stated as her voice grew angrier and louder. “My whole frikking life is about raising my two children. I don’t have time for a relationship. That night was the first time I had EVER been away from them or with anybody since the jungle.”
“You should have told me you weren’t on anything,” shouted Sawyer.
“I can’t believe you’d place this ALL on me. It takes TWO to make a baby, Sawyer. You were more than a willing participant that night if I recall correctly. If you were so worried about another kid, why didn’t YOU do something about it then? Why did you leave it up to me, huh?”
“Because I was stupid to…”
“Well, we both were stupid, Sawyer. Tell me were you thinking of the aftermath of what that night led to as you were tearing my clothes off me?”
“No. I just wanted you,” Sawyer quietly responded.
“I too just wanted to be with you that might. I honestly never gave a second thought to birth control. What are we going to do, Sawyer?” Ana also quietly asked.
“What do you mean we?” Sawyer coarsely stated.
Getting upset yet again, “Yes, WE, Sawyer as I didn’t make this baby all alone.”
“I don’t think I’m ready for another baby.”
“And I am? It’s happening whether you like it or not. I really hope that you’ll be part of this baby’s life too.”
“I can’t, Ana,” Sawyer said as he stood and began walking toward the front door. Ana went running and got ahead of him pressing her back on the door.
“Where the frik are you going, Daddy?”
“I need to leave. This whole thing I just can’t do now,” Sawyer calmly stated as he tried to push Ana out of the way.
“Sawyer, don’t leave. What about Tomas and Mari? What the heck am I going to say to them when they wake up?” Ana stated as she fought Sawyer.
“Tell them I had to go but love them,” Sawyer gritted as he opened the door.
“Run like you always do. Run from your responsibilities,” Ana shouted to Sawyer’s retreating back.

PART 7
She slammed the door and sank to the floor with her back pressed to the door sobbing. She knew he wouldn’t take this pregnancy well at all. She just hoped that she would be able to put off informing him until several weeks down the road and when he was so attached to the twins he couldn’t think twice about leaving them or the new baby. She cried harder as she realized that she’d have to explain to the twins that their father had walked out on them. How would she do that? They had expressed so much happiness having their own daddy around today. Why did she let him in knowing that his disappearance would hurt them more than not knowing him? Finally, the tears stopped, and she cleaned herself up before the kids got up from their nap and began their incessant questioning of why she was sad. Shortly Mari woke up and wanted to really wake up in her mother’s arms like always. Then Tomas was cuddled into her. As soon as both were wide awake the first question out of their mouths was, “Where Daddy?”
Pausing on how to answer them truthfully but not really lie, she answered, “He had to go home.”
“Why?”
“He just had to go.”
“When he be back, Mommy?” Tomas innocently asked her.
“I don’t know when he’ll be back here, Sweetheart,” Ana quietly responded as she brushed his straight hair on his head.
“How come?” Mari now questioned.
“He didn’t tell me when he’d be back. I’m sorry, Baby.”
Both of them lost their smiles and little tears were forming in their eyes. They understood. Pulling them onto her lap, Ana just cuddled them close and kissed them both before saying, “I love you Tomas. I love you Marisol. You know that right?”
Both nodded and then both spoke at the same time with tiny smiles beginning to appear on them, “I love you, Mommy.”
“Let’s go make some cookies, okay?”
Practically darting into the kitchen, Ana followed and their life restarted to where it had been before Sawyer interrupted it for several hours. Sure they asked over the next couple of weeks when Daddy would be back to visit. Every time Ana told them the truth that she didn’t know. During this time, she also went to the doctor and was relieved to know that she was only pregnant with one baby this time. Thankfully, her sickness only happened at night after the children were asleep in bed. However, she did have extreme exhaustion but had no choice but to persevere through it and not let it affect the twins.
When she informed her mother, she knew she was disappointed in her but said she’d support Ana as always. As she told Kate, she also blamed her pregnancy on Kate for trying to reunite Ana and Sawyer. Feeling badly for Ana, Kate apologized and promised never to do that again. She also cursed Sawyer along with Ana for what he did to not only Ana but also and more importantly the twins. In her fifth month of pregnancy, Ana discovered she was carrying another girl. She was slowly accepting that she was pregnant again. Up until that day, she really tried to deny she was having another of Sawyer’s babies. Sure she was tired and her stomach was beginning to expand. Eventually, when she could feel the baby, she did feel slightly happy about it. Still she had no idea how in the world she was going to raise and handle three children, three and under all alone. She felt guilty that she wouldn’t have enough attention for the twins or for the baby.
Being 7 months pregnant, she finally explained to the twins that mommy had a baby growing in her stomach. They had asked why her stomach was getting bigger, but she didn’t want to tell them as they were too young to grasp it. As she described to them about their new sister, the baby started kicking. She took their little hands and placed it on her stomach. Tomas felt her first and before Mari had a meltdown over the fact that she didn’t feel the baby too, the baby kicked her and she smiled.
Even though it was getting chilly, it was still sunny Los Angeles therefore Ana decided to take the kids to the park to get some of their excess energy out. They hadn’t been to this particular park since they had come with Sawyer nearly 6 months ago. This had been their favorite place to go before Sawyer had spoiled it. She decided to screw him and take them back to their favorite park. They were so excited to be back here. Mari did remember that her daddy had played here with them. Soon enough they were running and screaming and playing on the play structure. Sitting on the bench, Ana just watched her kids have fun. She did happen to glance up at the little hill that overlooked the park. Her breath caught in her throat at who was standing up there watching HER children.

PART 8
She really wanted to gather the twins together and leave the park to protect them from being hurt by HIM. However, as she maneuvered herself off the bench to begin rounding them up to go somewhere else, Tomas spotted the man she didn’t want him near.
“DADDY,” Tomas screamed and took off running up to Sawyer.
Seeing his son coming at him full force, Sawyer decided to greet him part way. He scooped his son up and hugged him.
“Where you been, Daddy?” Tomas asked curiously.
“Did you miss me?”
“Yes. Where you been? You didn’t say bye to me.” Tomas asked again with a bit of sadness in his voice.
“I’m sorry for that, Tomas. I just had to go. I’m here now.”
“Come play, Daddy.” Tomas innocently and excitedly told him.
“Sure but have to greet your sister and Mommy first.”
Ana watched Tomas excitedly greet Sawyer. Looking down at Mari, Ana said, “If you want to go say hi to Daddy, you may, Marisol.”
“NO. Don’t want to,” she said angrily.
Picking her up and sitting back on the bench, she looked down at her daughter and questioned her and her reaction, “Why not?”
“I mad at him.”
“Why, Baby?”
“He didn’t come back.”
“Oh, Sweetheart, I’m sorry,” Ana didn’t expect this from Mari. She was more like her than she could ever think. Not able to speak more as Sawyer still holding Tomas approached. Standing up after putting Mari on the ground, she had her usual stance of anger toward him. How dare he show up unannounced! When he leaves this time, she’ll be the one who will have to deal with the aftermath. He was going to hurt her babies again. Obviously, he knew she would have slammed the door in his face or not answered if they had been at home. He lost his right when he walked out them the second time.
“Hi, Marisol,” Sawyer greeted his daughter. She didn’t respond but turned her back on him and put her face into her mother’s leg. He felt hurt that she ignored him but could understand that she was distrustful of him like Ana had been when they first met and even after!
“What do you want, Sawyer?” Ana angrily inquired with her hands crossed over her chest.
“I wanted to see my kids.”
“Really?”
“Yes, really. I missed them.”
“You really know how to show it.” She remarked sarcastically.
“I’m here now.”
“Yeah. For how long this time? One hour? Two hours?”
“I’m ready to be their father, Ana-Lucia.”
“Oh goody. Glad to know that nearly three years later you’re ready,” Ana responded her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Tomas interrupted his parents by innocently asking, “Are you mad, Mommy?”
“Yes but not at you Sweetheart. I’m mad at Daddy.”
“How come, Mommy?”
“Don’t worry, Tomas. It’s between me and Daddy. Sawyer, we need to talk soon but not…”
“I know. Right now I want to play with the kids if that’s ok with you?”
She so wanted to tell him heck no. However, looking at her son’s eyes that wanted Sawyer so much she simply nodded.
Looking down at her daughter whose eyes may be his but definitely had the fire from her mother blazing through, Sawyer asked, “Mari, do you want to come play too?”
Not even bothering to look at him, she simply said, “No.”
Trying to hide the hurt from her rejection, he nodded and walked off to play with Tomas. Ana glanced down at her daughter. Carefully, she bent down and picked her up. Mari buried her head into Ana’s shoulder and began to cry. Walking away from Sawyer and Tomas, she just let her daughter cry in some privacy. Mari never liked to cry in front of anyone except her brother or her mother. Ana wasn’t sure how she’d learned that skill but just another mark in Ana’s column on what she had passed down to her daughter. Continuing to rock her and rub her back, Mari finally calmed down enough to tell Ana what she already knew. “I sad, Mommy.”
“I know. You can just stay with me if you want or do you want to go play with Daddy and Tomas? It’s ok to want to play with your daddy.”
“I stay with you.”
Sitting back on the bench, she placed Mari on her lap so she could keep an eye on Sawyer and Tomas. After a while, Mari turned in her lap and asked her, Mommy, can I go play now?”
“Sure.” Putting Mari on the ground, Marisol turned to face her.
“Mommy, come with me.”
“You’re a big girl and can do it by yourself.”
“Please,” Mari pleaded with her blue eyes beginning to sparkle with welling tears.
She so did not want to be anywhere near Sawyer. However, she would suck it up and go over there with her daughter especially since she said please. Manners were something she was working on with the kids and especially Mari who had a tendency to get a bit bossy. Grasping her daughter’s outstretched hand, she slowly made her way over to Sawyer and Tomas.
Looking over at Ana and Mari, Sawyer smiled at them. Ana just glared at him while Mari slightly smiled at him. Tomas came over to Mari and started talking to her or what he assumed was talking as he couldn’t really understand it. Releasing Ana’s hand, they both took off running around the play area. Finally, Sawyer had a chance to try to converse with Ana.
“How are you feeling?”
“Pregnant,” Ana spoke curtly.
“How’s the baby?”
“She’s fine.”
“It’s a girl?”
“Yes. What are you really doing here?”
“I’m here to be a part of our children’s lives.”
“Why now? Please don’t tell me because you’re ready now.”
“Look 6 months ago I was… I was wrong to do what I did,” Sawyer stuttered out quietly. It was hard to admit this but he knew he had to do this to if he ever wanted Ana to begin to trust him again and to be a part of their kids lives, all three of them.
“Yeah, you were.”
“Just let me finish this, Ana. Okay?” Sawyer stated frustrated.
Ana just nodded.
“I freaked out with the thought of another baby. I never saw myself ever having children for many reasons. When you told me you were pregnant the first time, I was still saw myself as that selfish conman who wanted no responsibility. You have no idea that it took me everyday for those five weeks to knock on your door. Everyday I was able to get a little closer each time.”
Unfortunately, as Sawyer was going to explain more to Ana and Ana could feel herself breaking down in front of him, the twins decided to come running back and interrupt their conversations. Tomas came barreling into Sawyer’s leg. Grabbing Sawyer’s hand he yelled, “Daddy, come play with me.”
Looking down at his son’s pleading eyes, Sawyer couldn’t imagine how he had ever walked away from his kids. His son loved him unconditionally. He didn’t care about his past or anything else. He just loved his daddy because he was his daddy. He wanted to spend time with him and with Marisol too. Truly, Sawyer wanted to get to know his children and be there for the third one. Now he had to convince Ana of this.
“Ana, can we continue this conversation later?”
“Sure. Go play.” Ana was shocked that Sawyer had begun to open up to her. Maybe he had changed but she would have to wait it out a bit longer to be sure he didn’t run away from all of them again. Sitting on the bench just watching Sawyer and the twins play together, Ana realized how beautiful that scene was. After a while, all three came over to Ana. The twins both hung on her and told her they were hungry. Looking at her watch, she realized it was past lunchtime. She told them it was then time to go and get lunch at home. Sawyer’s face dropped as he didn’t want to say bye to his kids. Coming up with an idea, Sawyer asked Ana if he could take them to lunch. Ana said she needed to go home as she was way too tired to deal with the two at a restaurant. Then Sawyer said he would take the twins to lunch himself, and she could go home and rest. Mulling it over as the twins eagerly looked at her, she at first denied it because she didn’t want to switch around their car seats. Sawyer suggested that they just switch cars. Finally, Ana relented and said yes. All three yelled yes!
Taking her house key off her key ring and getting the twins loaded up into her car, Sawyer dropped her off at his car. Getting in and starting it up, she waved to Sawyer and the kids as they drove away. At a stoplight she glanced at the passenger seat and noticed a book lying there. Curiosity got the best of her as she turned it over and was surprised to see what book Sawyer was reading. It was a pregnancy book. Flipping through it, she noticed he had book marked it with the picture she had given him of their twins. Also he was on the correct week of her pregnancy. She felt tears well up in her eyes but pushed them down as she was being honked at to go.

PART 9
Arriving at home, she sighed at the quietness that reigned in her house. Deciding to use this time to her full advantage, Ana went to her room to take a nap. Way too soon, she felt little eyes staring at her. Slowly opening her eyes, she noticed Tomas and Mari staring at her, standing at the side of her bed. Blinking again, she saw Sawyer leaning against the doorframe of her bedroom. Returning her eyes to her twins, she smiled at them.
“Did you two have a good lunch with Daddy?” Ana asked.
Both of them nodded. Then Tomas asked, “Mommy tired?”
“Yes. Mommy is very tired.” Glancing at her clock she realized it was well past their naptime. “Are you two ready for a nap?”
Tomas whipped around and looked pointedly at Sawyer with a sad tone in his voice, “Daddy, you leave when we go to sweep?”
Sawyer looked at Ana for help. He didn’t want to leave but wasn’t sure if Ana wanted him to hang out.
Quickly, Ana figured out that Sawyer wasn’t going to run and for the sake of her children she wouldn’t deny him being there for them when they woke up. She knew that they needed that reassurance that their daddy wasn’t going to run away again from them.
Ana asked, “Daddy, are you going to be here when Tomas and Mari wake up?”
“Of course, so let’s let Mommy lay back down, and I’ll put you two down.”
“No, Sawyer, that’s okay. I’m up.” Sitting up and slightly groaning as she rolled out of bed, she made it up and put the kids down for their nap. They were pretty tired and both were out before Ana could blink. Sawyer just watched Ana and the twins from a distance. He saw Ana getting up off Tomas bed and quietly leave the room. Both made their way into the living room knowing it was time to discuss life.
Not wanting to get into quite yet with Sawyer as she was still so tired, Ana casually asked, “Did they behave themselves at lunch for you?”
“Well, Tomas did as he did whatever I did. It was very cute. Mari, on the hand, was a bit difficult. Nothing pleased her. She did ask for her mommy a lot.”
Laughing at the thoughts of her quiet son imitating Sawyer, made her pleased as she knew her son needed his daddy. Mari giving Sawyer a hard time also made her happy as Marisol could be a handful. “She can be difficult at times.”
“Like mother, like daughter. I hope our second daughter is a bit more relaxed!”
Ana didn’t know how to respond to the fact that he was actually acknowledging their unborn daughter. Now there was an awkward silence between the two. So much to discuss but neither one wanting to at all. Sawyer had already expressed himself a bit, which was hard for him to do. Ana decided to ask Sawyer a somewhat neutral question about his family. She believed it might be beneficial for the kids to have more family especially if they’re connected to their father.
“Have you told your parents about the kids?”
“Uh…..no,” Sawyer spoke shifting uncomfortably in his seat.
Ana was disappointed that he didn’t tell his parents about his kids. She felt like he was embarrassed by them. “I thought you might have especially since you said Mari had features of your mother.”
“My parents died when I was a child.”
“I’m sorry, Sawyer. I didn’t know that. Sorry.”
“Can we change the subject?”
“Definitely.”
“Ummm…. Does the baby kick a lot?”
“Yes! She’s very active. She ‘s actually kicking right now. Can you see?” Ana asked as she moved her hands from her stomach. Both saw the way Ana’s stomach moved. Without even thinking, Sawyer moved closer to her as he watched her stomach move.
Gazing into Ana’s eyes, “Can I feel her?”
Picking up his hand, she placed it where the baby was kicking. He couldn’t believe it and just moved his hand around Ana’s stomach feeling his baby move around inside of her.
“Did the twins move this much?” Sawyer curiously asked.
“More. It seemed if one was resting the other was going to town. My stomach was HUGE with them. Bigger than now if you can believe it. At the very end of that pregnancy was very uncomfortable. However, this one likes to move when I have time to myself as if she’s reminding me that she’s on her way. It’s like she is already competing with the twins for attention,” Ana quietly said.
At that moment they gazed into one another’s eyes and both leaned into the other’s mouth. Soon they were kissing passionately. After several minutes of this, Ana yanked herself away from Sawyer.
“We can’t do that again, Sawyer.” Ana breathlessly informed him.
“It’s not like you’re going to get pregnant, Hot Lips,” Sawyer smirked.
“SAWYER! That is not what I meant. You don’t get to touch me like that after you left us.”
“Come on Ana. I want this family to work.”
“Family? My family is the twins and this baby. You’re not part of it.”
Looking absolutely crushed, Sawyer tried to hide his hurt. “I do have a part in this family, Ana.”
“Yeah, just getting me knocked up every time I’ve slept with you. That’s your part in my family. Thanks for that, by the way.”
“I’m those kids’ father. I’m more than just a sperm donor.”
“Really?” Ana sarcastically remarked, “Where have you been then Daddy for the past 3 years, huh? When you found out about this baby,” Ana pointed to her stomach, “you hightailed it out of this house quickly.”
“I’m here now. You have no idea how hard this has been on me.”
“How hard it’s been on you? You’re so self-centered. This is all about you and how YOU feel. Never once considering how difficult this has been on me. You didn’t have to give birth to two beautiful babies all alone. Raise them by yourself and then after a night with their father again, discover you’re pregnant again and have the father abandon you again along with those children. Having to explain to them that Daddy left them. They knew Sawyer that you had abandoned them. Now that’s hard.” Ana was almost in tears.
“I’m here now.”
“Oh goody. You’re here now. Do you want a medal for actually showing up in your kids’ lives?” Ana sarcastically stated.
“No. I’m sorry that I left you and the kids. Please, Ana-Lucia, I need to be part of their lives, and they need me to be.”
“Oh so you get it now. Three years later that they need you.”
“Mommy, you woke me up.” Marisol cried as she stood in the doorway half asleep with her hair in a tangled mess as she had been sleeping hard.
Moving to pick her up, Ana took her back to her bed. Laying her down again, Marisol whispered, “Sleep with me Mommy. Please.”
Simply nodding as she didn’t want to go back to into the living room with Sawyer, Ana laid down next to Mari. As soon as she had, Marisol snuggled into her and fell back asleep, and soon Ana joined her.

Loved it! That they kissed AND that Ana told him how she felt, 'cause I agree, he needed to hear it *nods*
I'll totally cry when Sawyer tells Ana how his parents died (and when Ana tells him about her first baby... I kinda assume it'll happen ), I almost got teary-eyed now when he told her that they did :P

PART 10
Again the twins both woke her up as she lay in Marisol’s bed. Tomas eagerly told her that Daddy was still here and hadn’t gone home yet. She simply smiled at him but cringed on the inside because she still had to deal with him until he left again. Getting up, she fixed the twins a snack as she felt Sawyer staring at her the entire time. She was not ready to deal with anything from him at the moment. She was just so exhausted and had too much on her mind to deal with Sawyer. It seemed that the kids just wanted to be with Sawyer. It made Ana happy that they had accepted Sawyer so easily. However, she was still nervous he was going to break their little hearts again. This time it would be even worse. Cookies wouldn’t fix it this time.
When dinner rolled around, she set 4 place settings as it seemed Sawyer had no intention of leaving. She wasn’t sure how she’d get rid of him. He wasn’t sharing her bed tonight even if in the back of her mind she wouldn’t mind some company besides loneliness at night. No that wasn’t going to happen. At dinner Tomas continued his watching and imitation of Sawyer. Ana practically choked on her milk as she witnessed this. It was so cute. She and Sawyer did share a little smile at their son. It was pretty silent at the table even Marisol was being silent which was quite rare.
“Daddy, you coming to my birthday party?” Tomas asked with hope.
“What?”
“It my birthday soon. You come?”
“When’s their birthday, Ana?”
“Next Monday but we’re having a little party on Saturday for the twins.”
“Oh.”
“Daddy, you coming?” Tomas impatiently asked again.
“Well, I wouldn’t miss it for the world, Son. You don’t mind do you, Ana?’
“No. Just be sure to be here if you say you’re going to be here. Don’t ruin their birthday.”
“Ana,” Sawyer hissed. “Let’s not argue in front of them. I’ll be here.”
Marisol and Tomas whipped their heads between the parents not sure exactly what was going on but feeling the tension between the two.
“Fine. The party starts at 11:30 on Saturday.”
“Do you want me to come earlier to help you?”
“If it fits into your life,” Ana saucily remarked.
“I’ll be here earlier.” Turning to Marisol, Sawyer inquired, “Who all is coming to your 3rd birthday?”
“My friends and Abuela,” Marisol stated matter of factly.
After dinner, Sawyer played more with the kids and then told them he was going to go home. Tomas started to cry that Sawyer was leaving him. Marisol just fought her tears. Sawyer reassured them that he would be back for their birthday party in a couple of days. As he walked to the door, Tomas clung to his leg as he headed to the door. Ana struggled to pick him up but was finally able to do so. He fought her when Sawyer took him out of her arms as he didn’t want to put too much stress on Ana and the baby. Tomas finally calmed down in his father’s arms.
“Sawyer, you don’t have to go yet.” Ana nervously spoke as she had never seen her normally calm, cool, and collected son have a major meltdown like that before. Normally, it was Marisol throwing the tantrum. Sawyer simply nodded and headed back into the house with Tomas in his arms and Marisol at his heal. Ana stayed at the door as she didn’t know at all how to proceed. Always in control, she was totally at loss to handle this situation. Sighing she walked into where the kids were. Tomas was glued to Sawyer. It actually broke her heart to see this. He was so attached to his daddy that she worried what would happen to Tomas if Sawyer left for a long time. Feeling like the kids were in good hands for the moment, Ana went into her bedroom and into her bathroom. She needed a long hot shower to help her relax from the day. Trying to shake the thoughts running in her head such as Sawyer in the shower with her, her supposedly relaxing shower became a bit more stressful. Finally, she relented and allowed the thoughts to run throughout her mind. Then because it was their child, her daughter decided to remind her what those actions had led to for Ana. Rubbing her stomach, she slightly smiled at that.
After getting into her pajamas, Ana meandered her way out of the bedroom. The lights were on in Tomas’s room therefore she went in there to see both kids snuggled into Sawyer as he read to them. Marisol was just about asleep while Tomas was wide-awake reading along. Sawyer glanced up at Ana and briefly smiled at her. She didn’t know why, but she blushed. It wasn’t one of his leers where he checked her out. It was more than that. She didn’t want to read more into anything as she was beginning to feel vulnerable to this man. Soon enough Marisol was knocked out. Ana went over to her and went to pick her up. Gently Sawyer transferred her into Ana’s arms. Tucking her daughter in, she just sat on the edge of the bed. She kissed her and left to put Tomas in for the night. When she entered back in there, Tomas was already tucked in and talking to Sawyer. He spotted his mother and moved over so she could sit down too. Seeing this, Sawyer also scooted himself over to make room for her. She kissed her son and quickly he faded into a blissful sleep with a little smile plastered on his face. Then she noticed that he held Sawyer’s hand in one of his. Getting up off the bed with some effort, she and Sawyer left the room.
“Thanks Sawyer for getting them to bed. They never go down for anybody. Thanks!” Ana spoke as they had made their way back to the living room.
“No problem. You looked like you needed some time and after that break down by Tomas I thought I’d pitch in. I’m sorry that that happened.”
“Me too. Thanks for staying.”
“I had to. I was worrying one of those kicking feet was going to get you in the stomach.”
Ana just chuckled at him. Suddenly, the baby woke up again and began to kick Ana really hard.
“Ow.”
“Are you okay?” Sawyer spoke with concern in his voice.
“Your daughter just managed to kick me hard. She’s still going to town. Sheesh it’s never this hard.”
Moving over to where Ana was sitting on the couch, Sawyer kneeled in front of her and looked up at Ana asking permission with his eyes to touch her stomach. Moving her hands off her tummy, Sawyer replaced hers with his own. Slowly, he rubbed her stomach and slightly smiled as he felt his daughter moving inside of her. Then he began talking to the baby and telling her not to hurt her mother like that. The baby’s kicks became gentler but she still was making her presence known. They sat that way for a long time. Sawyer rubbing her stomach and talking to the baby inside every so often. Ana just leaned her head into the sofa’s pillow and closed her eyes. This was what she wanted. She wanted him here always. Refusing to let her mind go negative, she just enjoyed his hands on her and how he calmed their unborn baby down. It took Ana a minute to realize that Sawyer was talking to her.
Looking at him, she said, “Hmmm?”
Sawyer slightly smiled at her, “Do you have a name for her yet?”
Ana just shook her head, “I don’t know yet. I didn’t come up with Marisol’s name until about a week before I had her. Tomas I already knew since the island. Do you have any suggestions for her name?”
“I’ll have to think about it, Darlin. What do Mari and Tomas need or want for their birthday?”
“Well, after his performance tonight, I think Tomas just wants you,” Ana laughed.
“Yeah. Well, he has me now. Anyway, any ideas for them?”
“Well, I’m getting them a little play set in the backyard.”
“That’s fun.”
“It’s more of a selfish gift because once this baby is born we won’t be getting to the park as much. Those kids love the outdoors so keeping them cooped up inside a lot is torturous to all of us.”
Ana and Sawyer discussed the kids for a while and Ana gave Sawyer several suggestions on the birthday present front. Both were relaxing and becoming more comfortable with one another. Ana just closed her eyes for just a second and was soon fast asleep. Sawyer looked over at her and couldn’t believe she had fallen asleep on him. The whole time they had been talking his hands had never left her protruding stomach as the baby would kick often when he spoke. He leaned down and kissed Ana’s stomach, which had been something he had wanted to do for a long time. He then brushed her hair off her forehead and kissed her there. Suddenly, he scooped her up as gently as possible and walked her to her bedroom. Carefully, he placed her in her bed and tucked her in. Taking a chance that he knew could end up with him never being able to get Ana pregnant again, Sawyer laid down in Ana’s bed and fell asleep.
