She so deserves her role in this movie. ;)

QUOTE
"I think people are really going to welcome this experience with open arms," she said. "And I have to call it an 'experience' because it's not like just going to watch a movie. You're actually going to experience it."

Ya' think the 'haters' and the media that hounds her for just living her life will respect her as an actress when they see this movie?

I know this movie is gonna be sick but how 'big' do ya think it will change her career?

Anyone know. :)

I would say yes. This is a revolutionary film by a legendary director. She has a significant role and is one of the better-known names in it. Definitely. But not just on its own. Her "relaunch" if you will, will be due to a combo of things. But Avatar will definitely play a big part in it. Despite what the uneducated naysayer might foolishly tout, Michelle is far from "one note", no where near a "has-been", and anything but "unemployed". LOL.

It's been a long road to where she's about to be. Girlfight thrust her onto the scene in 2000 and by 2003 she was the talk of the town as the go-to tough chick, but while some might say 2001-2003 was the height of her career, I'd say yeah right. Hardly. B/c after that she effectively disappeared, then in 2005 was thrust into the spotlight again when she joined Lost. While it put her back on the map, and visibility is important, my opinion is it did so for all the wrong reasons. Between the legal shit and doing television work it lessened her appeal as a film actress. And films are what she's all about. So as we all know....the span between late 2006 and early 2007 wasn't looking very hopeful to say the least, but like any lasting Hollywood career, there are of course ups and downs. And after the lowest of downs, she started building back up once she jumped onto Battle in Seattle.

As of Fall/Winter of this year, Michelle's career will never be the same....and in a really good way. The release of BiS will begin a whole new chapter in her career, and by far the greatest thus far. By the time 2010 rolls around, BiS, TFATF4, Avatar, and Tropico will have released and she'll be at her highest point yet in terms of success. Also by then, she'll have been in the industry for 10 years. How many actors can really say they've had a 10 year career period? Let alone one that began with a huge bang, hit some setbacks, but eventually bounced back to better than ever?

She still has a lot to accomplish and still isn't anywhere near where she potentially can, should, and wants to be, but she's finally makin' major moves in that direction. It's been an interesting ride thus far to say the least. Now comes the best parts. Enjoy it. ;)

ETA: Just FYI, the above was a Red Bull-induced version of what otherwise would have been a simple "Yes." :D

I'm so excited to see all of these upcoming projects! This interview has me especially interested in Avatar.

(And, getting kind of ahead of myself here, but would *love* for Michelle to be involved in commentaries on the DVD releases of any/all of these projects. The Blue Crush commentary makes me wish *every* DVD had commentary from the cast.)

Red Bull..... Thats too cringeworthy for me get. Apparently you have to be over 16 and have ID going to a corner shop to buy it. 20 next month, no ID on me and the shopkeeper makes me put it back with a que of customers staring at me. Too embarrasing. The shame......... :shakehead:

That's probably best. It really is unhealthy. I've cut way back and now only drink energy drinks on rare occasion, as opposed to a few times a week like I did for about a year.
