This film production company is created and owned by Michelle and her long-time friend and business partner Giancarlo Chersich. The first film to be produced by the company is entitled Trópico de Sangre and tells the true story of the Dominican Republic's historic Mirabal sisters who were assassinated in 1960 by Rafael L. Trujillo for opposing his dictatorship. Michelle also stars in the film as Minerva Mirabal.

I'm wondering if I could get away with showing it to my 8th graders, when it eventually comes out on DVD...would have to think of a way to justify it! Most of them could translate for me. 'Course, then I'd have to give away that I don't actually know Spanish (it's amazing what recognizing curse words will do for your credibility with 13/14 year olds)! Perhaps this will be the year that I *finally* actually try to learn it, now that I've pretty much got my French back.
