who doesnt love the Cujo line

and the fact that Nikki is a speed climber

i think the speed climber thing was really important for the character, not *just* so they could use her for the wee skit over to the garage

and she was really mature with the dating her ex's brother scenario. she coulda been a b*tch to her ex the whole time but she dealt with him really calmly

hate the ending with the dog jumping out of the cabin at them. im going to assume they just threw him overboard or something stupid like that cause Nikki didnt die :P

and how did the bloody dog even get in the cabin. the ppl were dead already. who closed the door behind him? what'd he eat for days?

anyway, film wasnt great, but it was fun. if Michelle hadnt been in it i might have been saying otherwise, but she was, so i enjoyed it :)

It sucks b/c there's only ONE special feature and I think it's that Animal Planet behind the scenes thing we've all already seen. So I've seen the special feature, I've seen the movie....but I still picked it up at Best Buy today....just b/c.

Gotta show that support ya know. Besides, while it's not a good movie it's not exactly horrific....and Michelle's character is pretty cool and different from her other roles, so I'd say the $20 was worth it in the long run. I now own all her films....well, except for....the one....which I don't even like to mention, but it starts with a B and ends with an E and stole an hour and half of my life that I'll never recover from.

The movie was pretty cool, it wasn't too bad.
man I think I may be one of the few people ever who actually liked the movie that starts with a B and ends with an E.. :P

I don't like the guy and her together. I like the guy just not with her...I don't know why. I liked her better with Collin (apart from you-know-who) He's good looking but I don't like the way they look together...

anyways....that's just me blabbing.

so it's really out NOW in the US *wondering*?? i bought the dvd in february and it had been on the market for a while at that time (speak'n about germany). :blink:

anyway, i did'nt like it very much. those guys aren't great actors - OF COURSE except Michelle - and the whole movie ain't scary :huh: . that "Nikki's-boyfriend-guy"...he's grinning aaaall the time. DUDE this is supposed to be scary :wacko: !!
Michelle got the coolest character though B)

specials: hm...boring. but there's actually one behind-the-scenes part whithout dogs but with the 3 survivors.

all in all is's not bad ... the little "evil" puppy is cute :lol: .
severe criticism, i'm sorry :unsure: ... but it's still entertainment in a way.

I loved it! Totaly worth the wait!! I admit it wasnt the best movie ever, or even Michelles best movie, but I loved it!! The only part I really couldnt stand was the end. THAT sucked majorly. I just like to think they flipped the evil dog over bored and all made it home and got all better. lol Thats my ending. lol

I guess it wasnt WONDERFUL but I really really liked it. Especally Michelles charactor. Nikki kicked ass! lol :D

poor Inner, liking BloodRayne :P . I only likes the scenes with Katarin, and even she annoyed me, turning against her peers for no reason... But up to that point, she rocked.

Vixxen - the boyfriend just seemed to me to be kinda dull for Nikki. Shes the outdoor sporty type and he's a book nerd. They were cute, but they werent hot.

Artemia - its out on dvd in the US, out in theatres in the Uk.

The only other actor in it i thought pulled his weight was Oliver Hudson as her ex. He was alright. I was interested to know more of their shady background together, but alas, not many details there.

As for Matt, no wonder he was grinning all the time having pulled a girl like Nikki :P

And the angle of the story were Sara and Matt were feeling all weird, Sara in particular having some sort of connection with the dogs, i liked that. They should have explored more of that...

IMO, Afterellen is good for one thing, The L Word recaps. Everything else is a bit meh. What made me laugh though is that the reviewer hadn't actually seen the film. Hmmmm :rolleyes:

As for the film, seriously considering buying it off ebay. I missed it at the cinema and it won't be out in the UK on DVD for a while. Is it worth forking out £15 ($30 ish) for?

I just got The Breed last night, so I decided to come post here which I haven’t done in so, so long. This is going to be long *holds breath*.

I actually thought The Breed was pretty good. The whole idea and plot was good, but I do have to say the script could have used some work in my opinion. The acting was okay. I loved Michelle’s character and the two brothers, Matt and John. Noah wasn’t bad either for the behavior his character had. But the blonde, ‘please, please, she not be in the next scene.’ I thought through out the movie until her death.

I thought the part where Nikki said “Give Cujo my best” she was dead. I loved that line as well. I knew she was going to die so I thought ‘well, that was a courageous way to die.’ So it didn’t bother me that much, since I knew it was coming. But then she was driving the car. And I was glad she made it to the very end.

**The Ending, okay the part I need to rant about lol. I just knew once they got on that boat that there was going to be a dog somewhere on it. Anyway, the ending seems to me it could be taken in several different ways, kind of like Girlfight that ending, where the watcher interprets it their own way ;).

1) They all died. (the most likely possibility) But I thought okay John got a dog of Matt when they were going to the attic. And Matt got all the dogs off of John at the dog compound right? Yes, Matt was wearing a suit so the dogs could not bit him then but even so, this was only one dog on the boat. Even if they got bit again, which for Matt and John it didn’t really matter anymore, they could still throw the dog into the water. So I couldn’t believe that they all died. Very sucky ending if they did.

2) They did throw the dog into the water and got back home. Okay if this is true I see a possible sequel. Anyone agree? A sequel could be good, finding a cure for the dog bites on John and Matt, and more dog stuff. Who knows? Or even if in the end John and Matt die from the bites it could be a sequel with Nikki and running into the dogs again. But it would of course need some new twist but I’m just saying a sequel could work. But if their was a sequel, I want it to involve Michelle, I wouldn’t see it being that great if it was just about a new group of people running into the dogs.

I really want the second to be true and there be sequel. I thought I had a number 3 but I can’t remember what it was so I’ll end here.

Okay I ranted way too much, sorry for that.

^Agreed on pretty much all counts.

There are 2 very simple things that could have PARTLY saved this movie (aside from a whole new script and dumping of half the cast, lol).

1. Music. Music can rescue an otherwise dull or silly film. The music was simple and barely even existent and rarely impacted the scenes at all. If you are going to make a stupid teen-esque horror flick, then do it. All or nothing. So they should have just run with that style and thrown in some good hard rock at key moments, some good instrumental scariness at others. I love natural sound and use of daylight in M. Night Shyamalan films, b/c it sets up this eery natural setting that can place you in the action and terrify you to your core. But Mastandrea failed miserably in his attempt to mimic this style. The music, or lackthereof, helped to just put the nail in the coffin for this film to be boring and unfulfilling.

2. A good trailer. When I get my new computer and editing software I'm going to put together my own trailer for this film for fun if I have time. I might blow it and it be crap, but I will try to put together what I envision could have made the film marketable. Even if your movie sucks ass, a good trailer is key. A powerful or exciting trailer will get people IN the theaters, and even if it blows and they all hate it, at least you made your money. They had to know this film sucked after they'd finished editing. But they could have put together a cool trailer and marketed it to the 'out for summer' high school crowd and probably landed at least a 4th place spot at the box office and at least made their production costs back. But the trailer instead started with boring music, typical setup and the "flash the action across the screen super fast so it looks more action-packed than it is" technique. That's fine, but at least put that fast sequence to some good music to get the heart pumping and give the audience member the false illusion of excitement.

So yeah, changing these two things could have mildly helped this movie, and if nothing else....secured it a theater release and thus little bit of production cost back, if not a tad bit of revenue. Sheesh. But that's just my two cents....or ya know, twenty dollars....:D

-the dvd had a behind the scene thing, and mr and her stunt get bit, michelles like "i'll survive, little tooth in my leg it's all good" :blink:
-like overall it's an ok movie, it's great like if your drunk,lol

its funny bc im at home yelling "run michelle, run for your life"but like very dramatic and being all like whyyyyyy ,lol
and then she trips and get shot in the leg with an arrow,lmao, its so cheesy. but good cheese,lol
after getting shot she limps in some scenes but is normal in some, and then theres this zipline scene and she falls from it all normal? i mean she jus got shot in the leg with an arrow!? and she falls all good? what is she the bionic woman? i think bad editing maybe?
but i mean she has some good moments. the audio kinda sucks i mean some points i turn it up to hear what there saying then !bom! dog then i gotta turn it down? (shrugs) maybe thats how its suppose to be?

Nikki isnt foolish enough to go back to the island again. And hopefully its not gonna be like Jurassic 2 where someone brings the bad dogs to the states for them to run wild killing and infecting people

the infection thing was kinda groovy, they should have went further into it. what they were being experimented on for? to what purpose? what it could mean for humans to be bitten/scratched?
