Michelle's Role
Lou is protester who is arrested during the riots. Lou's love interest is Jay (played by Martin Henderson). Lou is described by Michelle as someone who "only sees the problems" in the world, and she is someone who is desperate to fight what she feels is injustice, even if it means self-sacrifice. Lou is part of a team of protesters attempting a peaceful opposition of the WTO meetings, but when the anarchists arrive, violence and chaos breaks out leading to beatings, tear-gas sprayings, and arrests of innocent protesters, Lou included.

Ok so the promo pics for this movie I have on the site are a bit small....well over on the official movie site there's huge versions of two of the best pics on the background of Michelle's 2 pages. It's good to see the jail shot up close, b/c in the smaller version on this site she looks angry, but in this larger one you can see that in fact she actually looks a bit scared/freaked out.

This is a movie I'll be pre ordering my tickets for! I can't wait to see it. Soooo...does anyone think Channing will be man handling Michelle? Now that would be one of my nice little fantasies. :wub:

Is Michelle the main character in this movie or will it be Charlize Theron?

Annie, as far as we know its gonna be kinda like the Crash movie where everybody had a segment centrered on their character but it was all interlinked.

So Charlize would probably get top billing because shes more well-known and because of her previous Oscar win, but that doesnt mean she'll be in it more than any other character.

I have a feeling though that she will be. But noone really knows yet...

Actually, Michelle is a "co-lead", not just a costar. And yes while it's very Crash-like (i.e. ensemble all with their own arcs and such) and they all play major parts, Michelle and Martin are the actual "leads". Charlize's part actually is smaller (though likely more poignant) than some others like Woody, Andre, Channing, etc. I'm sure she'll be pimped more in promotion and such due to her name and the power her presence yields yeah, but at the end of the day her part is actually suppost to be significantly smaller than that of Martin and Michelle, Woody, etc. She only filmed for a week or so whereas Michelle and the rest were there for over a month.

No word yet on the rating.

Okay honesty here, when this movie was announced I wasn't around. I had this period where I was MIA. So I never really got into it, of course I was excited but I, don't know I didn't pay it much attention because by the time I came back there was just so much to catch up on so yeah...Today I had some free time and ripped the forum up reading most of the posts and viewing some of the pictures. Even googled a bit...and I'm really excited for this. It seems really intense and it has a powerful cast. I'm all up for it.

I'm sure I'll think of more later when my pounding headache goes away...but yeah, very stoked for the whole thing.

I remember in the questions thing we did, I asked one where I said something about this film reminding me of Girlfight as far as being a strong, character driven drama. And she replied like "Yeah, I agree......"

Anyway, thats cool. Its going to be gritty and ugly. And those are the best kind. :D
