Title: What would YOU like to see Michelle play?
Yaya - April 15, 2007 04:59 AM (GMT)
She's been a cop basically 75% of her work, I don't care if she plays it again, especially is there's a sequal to "S.W.A.T.".
But what would you like to see her play?
As a character or as a voice over character?
Me: I would like to see her play a drug addict. It sounds eye-catching at first, but I would like to see it. It would most defenitely bring out even stronger talents she has.
I like movies like that, or documentaries.
Has anyone ever heard of the show/documents "Intervention"?
Pretty good documentations. It's about drug addits who loses their lives (not death) and try to regain everything that's lost and they try to make their lives better by trying to quit what they're doing.
I'd love to see her try that or at least be a part of soemthing like that. You know?
Maybe she's try help her friend get an intervention of something. I don't know.
Anyway would would you like to see her play?

There's a charater in DC Comics called "Renee Montoya", a latin woman, and a cop. She looks great in tank tops which she commonly wears (bonus) and works the beat in Gotham City, maybe she could be in the new Batman movie? Montoya is also actually a lesbian and a recovering alcoholic, the papz would have a field day with it, but the character kicks ass and she's the only actress who could make her look cool on the silver screen.
Maybe a young Vasquez in a remake of the movie "Aliens". They could do a prequel with all the characters back in college or basic training. It could be a romantic comedy with the alien playing the lead in the love triangle between Ripley and Corporal Hicks. Vasquez could sneak liquor into the graduation party and then yell out "Lets Rock!" as they start passing out drinks. We'll call it "Aliens: VI, Beating a Dead Horse."
Of course the role I most want to see her in is as my girlfriend with Amy Lee from Evanescence playing the role of the jilted lover who is trying to win me back. It could happen, stranger things have...ah who the hell am I kidding.
Yaya - April 17, 2007 12:02 AM (GMT)
:yeah:
That sounds like a good idea.
I haven't seen the whole alien series, but just to see her out there is okay with me.
"Aliens: VI, Beating a Dead Horse"... ...wow.
"DC comics", what are those?
Who's Renee Montoya?
Like is she some kind of hero?

DC Comics is the company that publishes Superman, Batman and Wonderwoman among others. The next paragraph is proof that I am a total nerd.
Renee Montoya was a cop from Gotham City (Batman's town), she made her first appearance I believe in the Batman Cartoon of the mid-nineties. In recent years she was outed as a lesbian, and when her partner left her (not her police partner) she became an alcoholic (I'm sure the papz would have a field day with Michelle playing her). Her other partner, detective Crispus Allen was murdered and went on to become the host for the wraith of God, The Spectre.
She has recently starred in a mini-series called "52" in which she partners with a super-hero named "The Question" and eventually replaces him when he dies. Together they track down a criminal organization called "Intergang", she gets a kick-ass sci-fi ray gun and fights montster-men. If you are already bored to tears by this explanation, just nod and go "uh-huh" and go back to what you were doing. :)
Oh, and Montoya also was in a relationship with the new Batwoman, hubba hubba.

|
Sequal? Well the series she appeared in Det. Allen was called "Gotham Central", the series where she teams up the Question is called "52" or "Fifty Two" it is published weekly, so there are fifty two issues for fifty two weeks in a year.
Yaya - April 17, 2007 12:55 AM (GMT)

Oh, that sequel. They are working on a sequel to "batman begins", should be out next year I think.
Just go to your local comic book store for issues of fifty two, the comic store I work at still has copies of every issue, even though they are almost at issue #50. You can call the comic book store locator service if you don't know where the closest one is. I forget the number, but marvel.com should have it on the main page. I'll try and find it for you.

I'd love to see Michelle take on the role of a femme fatale in some noir-esque thriller; like Blood Simple, or Sin City...Her in slinky gowns; with that Veronica Lake-type hair, a small revolver in her clutch purse...Sexy!

As long as she doesn't get blown up or stabbed or eaten. Then, yes that would be cool. :)

I'd like to see her in a movie with a big love story too it. Nothing too cheesy and over the top. I would want her to play her inependent kickass attitude, but also add a mushy sensitiveness to it. Like she's troubled. I think that could work out good.

Y'know, if you are looking for a story with Michelle as a super-hero, I happen to know of one...
shanti07 - May 27, 2007 05:34 PM (GMT)
I would really really like to see michelle star in a movie that is made by quentin tarentino because he usually brings the best ouf of the actors he uses in his movies. Like what he did with Pam Grier in Jackie Brown. After all those blaxploitation movies she done in the 70's, no one thought she had it in her anymore. I think I would like to see michelle in do something along the likes of "Jackie Brown". Where the woman is in a movie that involves alot of powerful men but she still manages to take them down with her intellegence
I wouldn't mind seeing her doing a femme-fatale role either. Like some Xenia Onotop type stuff in the 007: Goldeneye movie.

^I'd love Michelle in a GOOD Quentin film as well.

I'd love to see her play Catwoman if they decided to try a new one in these new Batman films. Could just be a small part even in the third film, and if there was a good reaction to it they could do a Catwoman spinoff movie and breathe new life into the character, except this time do it the RIGHT WAY. Catwoman rocks, and Michelle herself once said that was her dream role, no reason to let that Halle Berry abomination kill the franchise....
....the current direction of the new Batman films seems to be to get gritty intense actors in their late 20s/early 30s to play the main roles and create a darker more comic-book style gritty adaptation. That is exactly the type of thing Michelle would be PERFECT for. The only way I ever want to see Michelle step back in to that action role is for a role like that....something big and sexy and cool and timeless, not anything gimmicky or one-dimensional....b/c she's already been there done that. If there isn't the opportunity for growth, why bother.

No I'm not kidding. Montoya just became the new "Question" a mystery-man (mystery-woman?) type hero that uses make-up to have a featureless face and wears a blue trenchcoat and matching fedora. Cooler than it sounds, really.
If that's not your cup of tea, check out the trade paperback collections of "Batman: War Games" at your local Borders. There is a latina character called "Tarantula". She doesn't have powers, but she is a master street fighter and gets to play a little romantic action with nightwing, who I'm sure you could find some current male hottie to play (that one's for you ladies). Check it out sometime and tell me what you think.
Don't stop reading yet Leigh! What did you think about the Aliens VI: Beating a Dead Horse pitch? With the right director and absolutely no shame, I think we could pull it off. C'mon you want to be a writer, right? I'll put together the outline and you can start scripting the dialogue. It can work!

Ummmm...creepy, okay, a little much, there....
Anyway, I would like to see her in a comedy, not a romantic comedy, I don't know about that. Someone witty and fun like in 'Sweetest Thing' maybe a little too-chick-flick but a character that she can have fun with.
On a more serious note, everyone seems to think she should play a serious. I like the idea of her in a Quentin film too! If she does a scary another thriller, I think she would do a good job in that.

I agree with the comedy. She's a very funny outgoing person with a lot of engergy. I think she would really be able to make a comedy work. Haha I was watching the commentary for Resident Evil yesterday and I just about peed myself when she goes "Yogurt" I had to rewind it like 3 times! She's hilarious, it would be amazing to see her do a comedy. :)
allaboutangel - May 29, 2007 12:29 AM (GMT)
she does have excellent comedic timing when it applies, in all of her movies she gets great Chandler-esque one liners
SWAT - i just like applying all the time
Girlfight - i dunno why, im his pride and joy
etc etc etc. the list is pretty long
and in real life she seems even funnier than some of the lines she gets in her movies
so something comedic, maybe darkly comedic, but not some cheesy rom-com that would make you queasy. Something a la Kevin Smith
i just want Joss Whedon to write something specifically for her, something with his style of comedy. dont care what it is, but if he did it, it'd be a winner

Chandler-esque hahaha! I just about fell off my chair. Anyways, I think that would be a good idea, the dark comedic thing. It would be a nice change from all the things she usually does. Not that they aren't fantastic but it would be nice to see something different y'know?

You know, just regarding action movies, Michelle doesn't HAVE to be a tough chick to still kick ass. I've always wanted see her in something like Nick Of Time or Cellular where she would just be a normal person who gets caught up in something bigger than her that just snowballs out of control.
I'm sick of all those Ashley Judd, Angelina Jolie stalker thrillers that seems to turn most girls I know into paranoid freaks. And if it's not that, it's crap like Aeon Flux & Tomb Raider which are just too unreal.
Now Michelle kicks ass in real life, she's a great person and a great inspiration [I think] for young women who are warped by the kind of sisters you see up on the screen. For her to play something close to the bone where she could just be like she really is, someone real and identifiable who gets pushed and finds self empowerment... it would be unlike anything that's been done before. A mainstream action thriller with a leading female character that leaves girls walking out with their heads held high instead of looking over their shoulder.
That's something I know I wanna see.

Exactly!
People forget that a woman can be awesome and strong without having to physically kick ass. Unfortunately the roles in Hollywood are very much like what you described....seemingly "strong" yet somehow ultimately severely damaged and actually pretty weak. It also seems in most films now a woman has to become a victim before she becomes strong and does what's needed. I don't really get that....but anyway, I am hoping she'll have a strong intelligent role soon enough....there's gotta be something out there and even if it doesn't seem like it just yet, it will reveal itself in due time. Things happen when they're meant to. Just gotta have faith.

Never give up....but learn how to wait in between life's battles.

Michelle sould play a drug addict halle berry jungle fever kind not the dr. House type. This way she could be the the victim and bad person, yet the protagonist. Drugs would be the antagonist. This way her role is meaningful and she not exactly the girlfriend who's being held hostage. I think people would see her as more than a tough chick, tomboy actress who gives off a lesbian/bisexual vibe.

I'm totally on board with the addict thing b/c I've noticed Michelle does some of her best acting during times where her characters are injured, sick, etc. There's something about it, she just handles that vulnerability that comes along with be physically damaged so well, which is funny, since it's more difficult to be vulnerable. When her face is all busted up or she's dying or something you feel it too and that's what acting is all about. It's ironic that that which she probably thinks is most personally challenging is usually what she's best at. ;)

As painful as it was, that scene where she is killed on Lost was amazing. The anguish on her face tied my stomach up in nots. Probably the most emotionally involved I have ever been with a tv show was that moment.
