Title: SWAT and Beyond
Description: just another day of SWAT

devilish_angel - November 24, 2006 12:51 AM (GMT)
This is a fic I wrote after I first saw SWAT ages ago and I found it yesterday when I was doing my annual clean up of my room (well maybe not annual but.... :P ) and I figured I'd post it because we have ONE SWAT fic which is pretty sad because she totally kicked ass in the movie :D It's kinda fluffly in bits but.... yea. it's a double post coz It's quite long (Sorry Leigh if you ever read it :ph43r: ) It's set the week after the movie.

Tittle: SWAT and Beyond
Rating: PG/R - I dunno
Disclaimer: I don't own any of it, if I did there would be a sequal

-----------

“Right Deke, Sanchez, you’ll take the back entrance, Street, you and I will take the front.”

Hondo ordered as they pulled up to the school gymnasium. Someone had called in a hostage situation; a kid had strapped cylinders of nitro-glycerine to himself and was threatening to blow up the gym and everyone inside it.

“Remember, this kid is emotionally unstable. Be very cautious when approaching him. Our orders are to get into position then wait until the Hostage negotiator has spoken with him, we’re sort of a back up if it doesn’t work. Now we don’t want heroes, we just want to get everyone out of there alive, nitro-glycerine is nasty stuff so remember your tactics, any questions?” Hondo finished

The team shook their heads

“70 David, this is 10 David are you in position?” cam a voice on the radio

“10 David, this is 70 David, we are in position.” Hondo replied sharply

“You have about 10 minutes after the negotiator has spoken with him, Hondo don’t screw this up, you know what happens if you do.” Ordered Captain Fuller.

The team exchanged smirks at Fuller’s usual threat

“Tom, you know we’re gonna do this so drop it.” Hondo grinned “Alright, you heard the pig, let’s do it. Now we’re down a member after last week so I need your best performance guys, and girl” he added glancing at Chris.

With that the team split up. Chris and Deke made their way around the back of the building, they had to go in through the window in the changing room.

“There has to be another way in” Chris raised her eyebrows at the window on the wall above her

“C’mon, ladies first.” Deke grinned, kneeling down to give Chris a step up.

She scowled as reached for the window and pulled herself up through the tiny frame. Deke jumped and followed. They went to the door to the room and slid a small camera under it, they could see into the foyer. At the other end of the foyer was the door to the gymnasium.

“Hondo we’re in position” Deke reported

“Good, hold your position, the negotiator is speaking with the kid.”

------------------

Street followed Hondo to the steps of the main entrance of the gym. They each took one side of the double doors, armed and ready for whatever happened next. In front of them the negotiator was speaking into a phone in a relaxed tone. Police officers were buzzing around trying to keep the reporters behind the barricades several meters away.

-------------------

Fifteen meters went by and the suicidal teenager refused to budge. The Hostage negotiator looked stressed and frustrated despite his calm voice. A police sergeant approached Hondo

“Negotiations aren’t going well. The kid seams determined to stay put. Is your team ready to take over?”

“Yeah, I wanna talk to him”

The sergeant nodded and took Hondo to the phone

“This is sergeant Hondo, head of the SWAT team here, who is this?”

“Brad” came the short reply

“Hello Brad. Now we want to get everyone out of there. Do you think we could do that?”

“No! No one can leave!” The boy panicked

“Okay then howsabout we send in a couple of unarmed officers to take their place, because you don’t really want to hurt anyone do you Brad? So do you think that would be alright?” Hondo said calmly

There was no reply for several moments

“Brad, are you there?”

“yes”

“What-do-you say?”

“Okay” He agreed. Hondo looked at Jim who nodded and radioed Chris and Deke, informing them of the situation.

Chris groaned “Figures”

“Hey Sanchez, be careful.” Jim added

She grinned “Always am”

She removed her weapons, Deke did the same then she followed him into the gym.

Inside the teenagers were sitting around the gym, some looked scared, some looked bored but most looked confused. At the end of the gym a red haired boy was talking into the phone and sweating hard. Under his jacket they could see silver cylinders taped to his middle.

“Can you see my officers?” Hondo spoke into the phone

“Yeah” he replied

“Okay good, we’re going to start getting the others out of there okay?”

“Alright” Brad was trying to sound confident and in charge. The doors opened and the kids began pouring out.

---------------------

Minutes later Chris and Deke were left with the boy

“So why’re you doing this?” she asked, they boy just looked at her and said nothing she rolled her eyes and looked away. They sat in silence for a while before he spoke

“It’s my mum’s fault, she’s always choosing her boyfriends over me, I’m the one being the parent, it sould be the other way around and I’m sick of it. She doesn’t even notice so I thought I’d remind her I’m here.”

Chris and Deke looked at each other, this kid was sick.

“We’ll if you blow yourself up you’ll never know what she says and she won’t have a chance to fix it.” Deke offered.

“Sanchez you there?” Jim spoke into the radio

“Yeah?”

“Tell the kid to pick up the phone, his mum’s here.”

“okay.” She replied and looked at Brad, he scrambled for the phone and began talking emotionally into it. Soon, tears were streaming down his face. He put down the phone and tuned to Chris and Deke

“I don’t want to do this anymore.” He said quietly. Deke sighed relieved

“Let’s get the bomb squad in then yeah?” Brad nodded

“Okay Hondo, send in the bomb squad.” Chris said

“Copy.” Seconds later fully armed officers burst through the doors, they went straight for Brad. After they’d removed the bomb all but two squad members left, taking Brad with them.

“Sanchez, Deke, you can come out now” Hondo called into the gym. Chris followed Deke towards the door, leaving the two men to contain the nitro-glycerine. They had just about reached the door when the men fumbled with the strap of cylinders and it fell to the floor, the impact detonated the bomb.

The gym erupted into flames, the bomb squad members were killed instantly. Chris and Deke were thrown foreward by the force of the explosion, Deke was ahead of Chris and was blasted into a police van. Chris hit the roof of a squad car and was propelled onto the ground, both were unconscious and badly hurt.

Everyone had ducked for cover , a crowed had gathered behind the barricades which were fortunately a good distance away. Jim was the first to react after the bomb had finished exploding, he had been pushed into Hondo then a car but neither of them were hurt.

“Sanchez? CHRIS?” He couldn’t see her anywhere, Hondo went straight to Deke, along with other officers. Jim looked around, where was she? Through the dust he could see her limp figure on the gravel several meters away

“Chris!” He ran over to her, finally seeing where she was, other officers followed Jim. He rolled her over, blood spilled from a cut on her forehead and her hands were badly cut. Lodged in her stomach was a piece of metal from the gym’s door.

“oh god Chris…” she was still breathing but her pulse was weak. A medical team arrived and took Chris and Deke away. Hondo and Jim followed closely.

devilish_angel - November 24, 2006 12:53 AM (GMT)
“Sit down will you?” Hondo said slightly irritated interrupting Jim’s thoughts,

“What? Oh sorry. I just hate the waiting.

“Me too but you’re making me dizzy.”

Jim sat down, they had been there for three hours now and they hadn’t heard anything about Deke or Chris. Soon a doctor came into the waiting room accompanied by a nurse.

“Is there anyone here for a ‘Chris Sanchez’ or a ‘Deacon Kay’?”

“Yeah?” Jim jumped up. The doctor took them down the corridor, they stopped outside a room.

“I’m happy to say Deacon will make a full recovery, he has several broken ribs and he received light head injury he was very lucky.”

“Good” Jim and Hondo said together

“What about Chris?” Jim asked anxiously

“Chis’s case was a little more serious. None of her injuries are very serious, they will heal in time but her head would is nasty”

“So what’s wrong?”

“I’m afraid she’s suffering from temporary memory loss, She should be fine in about a week but we’ll need to keep her here during that time.”

“So she remembers nothing?” Hondo frowned

“She was saying something about picking up her daughter Eliza from her mother’s place and we contacted her mother and that was two weeks ago. She remembers nothing after that.” He said apologetically.

“Can I see her?” Jim asked

“Yes but be gentle with her.” The doctor ordered

“I’m gona see Deke” Hondo said. Jim nodded and walked into Chris’s room.

Chris was laying in bed with her eyes closed, her forehead had been stitched up and a drip was in her left hand, hooked to a bag of blood.

“Chris” he said softly, he went over and sat beside her, she looked so peaceful, probably the most peaceful he’d ever seen her. He bent down and kissed her forehead, her eyes blinked open

“Even when I’m dying you’re hitting on me, c’mon Street, gimmie a break man” she grinned slightly

Jim smiled “How are you feeling?”

“I’m great, never better. Don’t even know why I’m here.”

“You would if you saw yourself” He teased, Chris hit him in the arm.

“So they said I was in an accident.” She said more seriously

“Yeah, you and Deke were In a gym when it got blown up.”

“Is Deke okay?”

“Yeah he’ll be fine.” He stroked her cheek, Chris swatted his hand away smiling. Just then Hondo appeared in the doorway

“How you feeling Sanchez?”

“Great, thanks” She smiled

“Turn on the news” He told Jim who went over to the T.V in the corner and turned it on. There was a news report on the explosion.

“…..Two officers were killed in the explosion and another two were badly injured, we have no word yet on the condition of the officers…..” The woman was saying as clips from the explosion played on the screen. Chris saw herself flying through the air and landing in the gravel, everyone was ducking. Then she saw Jim running to her, she smiled and looked at him

“Man you’re soft Street.” She smirked he laughed and turned it off, Hondo received a call on his phone and left the room. Jim returned to his place beside Chris. She looked away, blinking back tears, she could have died, who would take care of Eliza if she wasn’t there?

“Hey, you okay?” Jim interrupted her thoughts, she nodded, forcing a smile. She couldn’t look him in the eyes, she knew she would cry if she did.

“You’re such a bad liar!” he smiled She laughed, a tear slipped down her cheek, he wiped it away.

“It’s okay to cry Chris” he said softly, she shook her head. He sat on the bed and pulled her into a hug, she buried her face in his shoulder to hide the tears. He’d never seen her cry before, it was so unlike her but everyone had their breaking point and given what had happened today she had a good reason.

Regaining her composure Chris pulled away “I’m fine, honest.”

Jim nodded

“Jim can you do something for me?” she asked

“Yea of course” he smiled

“Can you call mum and get her to pick Eliza up from school? They said it was Wednesday which means she’ll be at school right?”

“I already have, don’t worry about it, your mum said she’d bring Eliza when you’re up to it.”

Chris nodded gratefully. Hondo appeared again “Street we’ve got a meeting with our favourite person, we gotta go. Sanchez, I’ll see you later, rest up.”

“Who’se your favourite person?” Chris asked confused

“Fuller” Jim groaned. Chris nodded and laughed

“I’ll see you later then” Jim said

“Okay” he walked to the door “Thanks Jim” She said after him. He turned and smiled then walked away.

lmao thanks here's the next bit;

-------

Six days had passed. Deke was our of hospital and making a good recovery. Jim and Hondo had been in to see Chris everyday, Deke had even managed to come in once. Chris was getting very bored and frustrated being stuck in hospital, she looked forward to her daily visits. Two days ago her mother had brought Eliza in to see her, Chris had tried so hard not to cry but as soon as Eliza walked out the door tears rolled down her cheeks. She had one more day then she was getting released tomorrow. She was already packed and ready to go, even if it was a day away. She was doing another crossword when a man entered her room

“Hey, I’m so sorry I didn’t get to see you earlier, you have a guard outside your room who wouldn’t let anyone in” The man said “How are you?”

Chris frowned “Do I know you?”

“Oh of course, they said you had memory loss. We met last week, I’m Alex” He replied smiling

“Oh, I’m sorry.” Chris felt bad, not remembering the man.

“So where are you from?” she asked

“You mean my accent? I lived in France but I’ve been here on business for a little while.”

“Where did we meet?”

“On the street, we just happened to run into each other” He smiled

Chris smiled back, he seemed familiar but she felt uneasy about him for some reason but she didn’t know why.

“Well” Alex went on “I was speaking with the nurse before and she said I could take you home now.”

“But I’m not being released until tomorrow” Chris frowned

“I know, she said you were making a good recovery and it was no longer necessary for you to be here.” He informed her

“Oh, alright then, I’ll just get dressed, then we can go.” She smiled

“Of course, I’ll wait outside.” He smiled back and left the room. Chris changed into her clothes, leaving the tacky hospital gown on the bed. She gathered her things and walked into the corridor where Alex was waiting.

“Good, lets go.” He began walking towards the door, Chris followed but found it hard to keep up, he was walking unusually fast. They left the hospital and Alex took her to a black car with tinted windows, a man got out of the car and opened the door for them, Chris raised her eyebrows but said nothing,

Several minutes after they’d left the car park Alex pulled a flask from his pocket and handed it to her

“Here, have a drink” he said without smiling

“No thanks” Chris smiled falsely , there was something wrong, she was feeling more and more uncomfortable with this man. She needed to get out of there. She put her hand in her pocket and reached for her cell phone, she dialled Jims number and pressed the call button.

“What are you doing?” Alex shouted, finally noticing she was up to something, she quickly removed her hand from her pocket

“Nothing.” He handed her the flask again “Drink this” he ordered

“No.” She refused “What is it?”

“It will make you a little sleepy that’s all” he pulled a gun from his belt and pointed it at Chris “Drink it”

“Who are you?” she asked, she hoped Jim had picked up his cell phone and was listening

“My name is Alex Montel and I need you to drink this” he said snidely

“And if I don’t?” She raised her eyebrows

“If you don’t your daughter and mother will not be very happy with you” he smirked

“What the f-ck did you do?!” Chris lunged at him, she grabbed the gun and pressed it to his forehead

“You don’t want to do that.” He said, still smiling

“I think I do” Chris insisted

“Whatever, your funeral, or your families I should say, but by all means go ahead.”

“Why?” Chris shouted, pausing

“If my men don’t get a call every ten minutes they have orders to kill your family, and I don’t think I can make the call if I’m dead.” He glared at her

Chris sat back in her seat, helpless “What do you want me for?”

“Like I said when we met last week, I don’t like cops, especially SWAT officers, last week you screwed up my escape but fortunately the prison guards are not as smart as you and I got away, now I leave the country in 23 hours but I thought I’d fill my time by organising a little gathering with your SWAT team”

Chris rolled her eyes “f-ck you”

“Now for the last time, drink this” He handed her the flask and with the other hand reached for his phone. Chris took the flask and held it to her lips, “If I drink thus you won’t hurt them?”

“Once you have drunk that I will ring my men and tell them to leave your family and come back to me.” He assured her

Chris nodded, what other choice did she have? She had to trust that Jim got her call, she tipped up the flask and drunk what was in it. It tasted foul to say the least, it was bitter and sour, almost as soon as she put the flask down her head began spinning and she promptly passed out.

-------------------------------------

Jim was on his way to the hospital to see Chris after an intense training session in the gym, she was coming home tomorrow thank goodness, she hated being cooped up inside all day, it amused him how happy she was to see him when he came in to visit each day. He went to Chris’s room to find it empty, he went over to the nurse’s station

“Hi, can you tell me where Chris Sanchez is?” he asked a nurse

“She’s in that room right there.” The nurse pointed to Chris’s room

“I just came from there, she’s not there” Jim told her. The nurse frowned and went into Chris’s room and found the hospital gown “looks like she’s gone.”

Jim starred at the gown in surprise, where was she? He went down to the front desk “Can I look at the security footage off the front door? For the last 15 hours please?” He held up his badge. The man nodded and took him into a small room with security tapes everywhere, he pushed a DVD into the computer

“Press this to fast forward and this to rewind” The man instructed him before leaving him alone.

“Thanks” Jim smiled as he left, he fast forwarded the footage until a familiar figure came onto the screen, it was Chris, he could hell her hair anywhere, and the jacket was the same black leather one she always wore. However more interesting was the person she was with. Suddenly his cell phone rung, it was Hondo

“Hondo we’ve got a problem” He said into the phone

“I know, you remember out friend from last week? The frog?”

“Yeah, he escaped from prison, right?” Jim asked

“………Yeah, How do you know?” Hondo frowned

“Because I’m watching the hospital security footage of him and Chris walking out the door.” Jim stated flatly

“sh-t” Hondo swore

“They left about two hours ago” Jim told him “We’ve gotta find her”

-----------------------

Chris opened her eyes groggily, her head felt so heavy. She looked around, she was in an empty wharehouse. Her hands were taped behind her back and she was taped to a chair. Where was she? She remembered being in hospital then the man had come, Alex Montel.

In the corner of the room the small door opened and the frog himself stepped into the room

“Ah you are awake.” He greeted her

“Where am I?” She growled

“In an empty wharehouse at a dock” He said simply “Not to worry, your friends will be joining you soon.”

“What doyou mean?” Chris asked

“Well they will come looking for you wont they? And being the good SWAT officers they are they will be here soon.” The man joked in his thick accent

“What about my family?” she thought suddenly

“Not to worry, they are fine, I believe your mother is making your daughter dinner as we speak, they are fine”

Chris nodded.

“Now if you’ll just sit still a moment I’ll put this on you” He moved towards her

“Wait! What is it?” Chris protested

“Well I was going to use a gun, but I figured you like explosives so much more so I couldn’t resist” Alex smirked. He strapped a ticking parcel to her middle.

“How long until it goes off?” Chris asked, trying to stay calm

“Thirty minutes” He said simply.

“You bastard! f-ck you!” She swore at him

“That’s not very nice” He pretended to be hurt by her words “I’m afraid I can’t have you making a lot of noise” He strapped tape over her mouth. He kissed her on the forehead and began to walk away. He stopped at the door

“I wouldn’t make any drastic movements if I was you “ He smiled. “Au revoir.” He disappeared, closing the door behind him, leaving Chris alone.

Thanks for all your comments! here's the final part. :D

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Street and Hondo were reviewing the footage in Fuller’s office.

“Where would he have taken her?” Jim slammed his fist down on the desk in frustration.

There was a knock on the door “Come in” Hondo ordered. It was Gus from the gun cage.

“Sorry to interrupt but Jim you left your phone on the counter before” He handed him the phone.

“Thanks man” Jim nodded. Gus left the room. Jim chucked his phone on the desk and returned to looking at the screen.

“Hold up, you’ve got a missed call there.” Hondo starred at the screen

Jim picked up the phone “It’s from Chris!” He put the phone on speaker and listened to the message.

“…………whatever, it’s your funeral, or your families I should say, but by all means, go ahead…….Why?........... If my men don’t get a call every ten minutes they have orders to kill your family, and I don’t think I can make the call if I’m dead………………..What do you want me for?.......... Like I said when we met last week, I don’t like cops, especially SWAT officers, last week……” The message stopped

“sh-t!....... sh-t!” Jim shouted

“We’ll try and get a trace on Sanchez’s phone” He made a call from fullers desk while Street tried to call Chris.

“Okay good.” Hondo hung up the phone, “The phone’s in a boatyard not far from here” He said

“Good, lets go” Jim was already out the door.

-----------------------------------------------

Street and Hondo turned off their lights as they approached the boatyard. The stopped under a tree just meters away from what looked like a series of large storage rooms.

“She’s in there.” Street pointed at the door guarded by two men dressed in black

Hondo nodded, okay it’s just the two of us so we have to be careful.” Fuller had decided he needed all his resources that night and couldn’t lend them any.

Jim screwed a silencer onto his gun then rolled down the window and shot the men, they fell to the ground dead. Street followed Hondo to the door

“This isn’t right, it should be more guarded then this” Jim protested

“Yeah” Hondo agreed, he opened the door. The room was empty, they couldn’t see anything or anyone.

“Look” Hondo pointed to the corner of the room where Chris’s cellphone was lying on the ground. Jim picked it up

“yeah this is Chris’s but she’s not here” he frowned

“She’ll be around here somewhere” Hondo looked around

“Okay then lets try the other rooms” Jim suggested

tem minutes later they’d searched numerous rooms and Chris wasn’t in any of them

“This is hopeless” Hondo said quietly

“She’ll be here somewhere, it’s a game of cat and mouse for that sick bastard.” Jim said, determined to carry on looking.

They reached the last room and opened the door, in the middle of the room Chris sat taped to a chair.

“Chris!” Jim ran to her and took the tape off her moth

“You alright Sanchez?” Hondo asked

“You’ve got to get this thing off me” She said as soon as the tape was off “It’s going to go off in five minutes”

“sh-t” Hondo looked at the device, there were so many wires

“Okay” Jim knelt down and looked at it thoughtfully “In order for the bomb to work, the only wires needed are this one and this one” He pointed out a black and red wire. He took out a knife and prepared to cut it then stopped

“This is too easy” He said

“So what’s the catch?” Hondo asked

“I dunno” Jim said frustrated

Chris sighed “well anytime you wanna hurry up and figure it out go for it.”

Street picked a wire and scraped off some of the plastic coating, careful not to get the wire inside under the red coating was another layer of black. Jim grinned at Chris

“Got it.” He prepared to cut the wire

“Wait!” Chris said “Are you sure it’s the right one?” She looked at him anxiously

Jim looked up at her “I hope so”

“Very reassuring Street” Hondo smirked.

He smiled nervously and went to cut it again

“Wait, Jim don’t…” Chris yelled

“Chris I have to do this now!” He told her “Otherwise you die”

She said nothing, just starred at him, breathing hard

“Chris I need you to trust me okay?” He said softly. She nodded slowly “Just do it”

Jim went back to the wire, he was sure it was the right one, at any rate if it wasn’t they would all die together. With one last look at Hondo and Chris he cut the wire.

Hondo, Chris and Jim sat there holding their breaths in silence. Chris was the first to breathe again, the ticking had stopped. She looked at Jim and grinned “Thank you” she whispered

“Good work street” Hondo began taking the tape off Chris. Jim sat there frozen, he could have killed them all. Why had he been so sure that was the right wire?

“Jim?” he looked up at Chris. “Yeah?”

“What’s up man?” she asked concerned.

He shook his head “Nothing, I’m good”

Hondo removed the last of the tape “Okay lets get out of here” He walked towards the door.

Jim got up off his knees and helped Chris up. They walked out of the cold and empty room and went over to the car. As soon as Jim started the car two other cars appeared out of nowhere and began firing at them

“Damn I hate that frog!” Hondo shouted getting out his gun

“Chris get my gun!” Jim yelled at her, she reached into his holster and retrieved the weapon, she and Hondo returned the fire while Jim drove them away as fast as he could.

The cars pulled up on either side of them, boxing them in. Jim hit the breaks, freeing them from the other cars Chris and Hondo went flying forward

“argh” Chris groaned as her seatbelt dug into her stomach.

“You okay?” Jim yelled

“Peachy” She muttered.

Jim drove around the car on the left, while he did so Hondo shot it’s tyres out, the car went skidding off the road and into a ditch. The other car came up and clipped the front of their car, sending them spinning around. The other car pulled over and four large men got out each had a gun un their hand, they began walking towards the car.

“Street?” Hondo yelled Jim turned to face Hondo, blood spilled from his head and he was disoriented

“I can’t focus” He muttered

“Just drive!” Chris lunged her body into the front, Jim pressed the accelerator and Chris steered.

“It’s a good thing were in an auto” Hondo laughed at Chris

“Just shut up and shoot man” She grinned

Hondo fired at the men, two fell down and the others ran for cover. Before they had a chance to return the fire They found the other car had disappeared. Chris had steered them down a side road and began taking the back roads back to the hospital.

--------------------------------------------------------

They arrived at the hospital, crashing into a rubbish bin in a failed attempt to park, Chris and Hondo supported Jim as he walked disorientated into the building. Chris stayed with Jim while the doctor saw to the wound on his head and Hondo reported what had happened. An hour later Jim was released and they went back to face Fuller.

“You’re joking” Jim muttered as they pulled up at work, a large crowd of the press was gathered outside the building and Fuller was giving them a speech on the ‘heroic actions’ of his people.

“That man loves the press” Chris smirked

Hondo drove around to the back entrance to avoid the unwanted attention. They signed their weapons in and cleaned themselves up. They were about to leave to go home after the long day when there was a knock at the changing room door

“Come in” Jim said flatly. Lt. Valasquez appeared

“Hondo, Fuller wants you out front.” He grinned sympathetically.

“Can’t it wait?”

“’fraid not”

Hondo sighed “Yea okay” He followed lt. Valasquez.

Jim was about to leave when he noticed Chris hadn’t come out of her ‘locker room’ for at least 1/2 an hour.

“Chris?” He called

“Yeah?” she replied quietly. Jim walked over to the door

“Can I come in?”

“Sure”

He opened the door and stepped in, Chris was sitting with her knees hugged to her chest on the bench. She looked up at him

“What?” she asked slightly irritated. Jim smiled and went and sat beside her.

“What’s up?” he nudged her with his shoulder

“you tell me” she smiled and nudged him back

“Have you talked with Eliza?” He asked. Chris nodded, looking at the ground to avoid eye contact. Jim smiled, she was so emotional about her daughter, fair enough too, he thought. He stood up and grabbed Chris’s hand and pulled her up.

“What are you doing?” She asked.

Jim said nothing and pulled her into a hug, she fought him at first, pushing against him she tried to get away.

“Chris” He said softly

“Let me go” She gave him one final shove, he slammed into the wall. Chris moved to leave but Jim grabbed her wrist, she turned around

“What Jim?!” she yelled at him, angry at his persistence. Jim grabbed her hips and pulled her up against him, before she could protest he kissed her hard. Chris was too shocked to react, she’d always told herself that he was off-limits, they worked together and it was another complication that she just didn’t need right now. Obviously he didn’t think the same way. He pulled away so that their faces were inches apart.

“What was that for?” Chris finally asked weekly. Jim grinned, she hadn’t punched him or tried to fight him off again, He lifted her chin and kissed her again, Chris kissed him back forcefully, Jim held Chris’s tiny hips and turned the around so her back was against the wall. His fingers tugged at the bottom of her shirt. Chris took his shirt in her hands, scrunching up the neatly pressed material she lifted it over his head and let it drop to the ground. She let his fingers slide under her top as he began inching his hands upwards against her warm skin.

Suddenly the door to the men’s locker room opened.

“Chirs? You in there?” Hondo called

Jim and Chris pulled apart quickly, like a couple of kids caught making out by their parents.

“Y…Yeah?” she stuttered

“You all good for a ride home?”

“Yeah, thanks anyway, I’ve got a ride with Jim.” She called out, grinning slightly at Jim who grinned back and pulled her body against his and proceeded to kiss her neck. She had to fake a cough to keep herself from laughing out loud.

”Okay so I guess he doesn’t need one either, I’ll see you tomorrow then”

“Yeah, see ya man” Chris called as Hondo closed to door behind him

Jim stopped kissing her neck and grinned at her, she smiled

“This isn’t a good idea” She said quietly. He looked at her seriously and nodded

“I know” he told her. “Now c’mon from what I hear I’m giving you a ride home.” He grinned

“Yeah” Chris forced a smile and went to open the door.

“f-ck it” Jim muttered and turned Chris around and kissed her, in spite of herself she kissed back, they both knew it wasn’t a good idea but neither one cared.

“You know” Jim grinned playfully “since your mom’s got Eliza until you’re better….” He trailed off leaving Chris to ‘connect the dots.’ She raised her eyebrows then laughed.

“Okay but no snoring!” she relented, pushing him backwards. Jim picked up her bag and opened the door, taking Chris’s hand in his he took off towards the door.

“Someone’s eager to get home” Chris teased him.

Jim nodded and laughed “Man I love being SWAT.”
